No you only have to leave a deposit if you try to block off more rooms than they allot to a block. Eg. Wingate Inn allows blocks of 10. IF you want to hold 20 there is a deposit required.

Ok, and say you block off 10 rooms....and not all of them get filled, do they charge you for all 10 rooms?

same hotel, same thing for us!
and no Neesiepie, you shouldn't get charged for the rooms you blocked that don't get booked. Most hotels just release them back to the general public after the cut-off date for your guests to book

Some hotels do charge you for the rooms that don't get booked--Just make sure you ask about that policy before you book anything!

Re: Do You Have to leave a deposit when blocking hotel rooms for OOT Guests?
we went to five different hotels 2 weekends ago and all of them said that you do not have to leave a deposit and a month before the date of the wedding they will take the blokced rooms off the blocked list so you wont be charged for any rooms not blocked

Re: Do You Have to leave a deposit when blocking hotel rooms for OOT Guests?
NO - don't do that. It is a mess. A few hotels ask for it (Windwatch does I think). It is not necessary and most hotels do not ask.Welcome New Vendors
