Re: Can anyone suggest a fun restaurant in the city for my bachelorette party?

La Mela is so much fun! Family Style Italian. Lots of wine. It's in Little Italy and they make a huge deal out of bachelorettes. There is no menu. They just keep serving a ton of food for everyone to dig in. Fun in a group! The waiters sing and serenade, old Italian songs. Very mafia and southern Italian. Awesome!

My girlfriend had hers at Casa La Femme,. Diners recline in pillows, in tents, with bellydancers and she said she had a blast. They made her get up and bellydance in the middle. Food and ambience is Egyptian. It's in Soho.

I vote no for Manga e Bevi. Some say it's fun but the manager was so rude to me.

We went to a Beni Hana's - we loved it. The waiter was alot of fun. When you (or your BM's) reserve the date, tell them it's a bachelorette party and that you want the personalble waiters. You have to sit 8 to a talbe though (unless they have bigger tables).

You could try Carmine's, but make reservations early if you have a party of six or more, they get booked pretty quick.

La Mela's is GREAT!!! Their gnocchi is out of this world. I was there for my friend's b'day during the San Genero (sp?) festival and they had some light they kept blinking and everyone would cheer--it looked a little like a penis Very bachelorette party!

Re: Can anyone suggest a fun restaurant in the city for my bachelorette party?

We went to a Tapas place for mine- Sala. I liked it there- I also like Pipa, Ola, and Plaintain.

I'm trying to think of another restaurant that would be fun- I went there recently but can't remember the name of it. They have drinks that are a bit different- like ginger-mango mohitos.

My bachelorette was at Dos Caminos Soho - such a cool fun place, great food, they gave us a bachelorette party price fix with personalized menus with my name on it. Great drinks, atmosphere.

Another NO vote for Mangia e Bevi....
I felt like I was sitting with another party & it's so hard to have a conversation. I didn't like it at all.

My girls brought me to DIP which is a fondue restaurant on 3rd Ave. It was SO good! We had a blast and the service was excellent.

Every time my sister called for reservations, it was 'parties of more than 15 have to come at 5pm or 10pm.' We wanted to go out dancing afterwards so 5pm was too early and 10pm was too late. So then we got some cancellations and we were down to 14 people so we called again to get an 9pm reservation. The manager then says 'no parties of 14 and more - 5pm or 10pm'. So I said this is BS, and I called and asked what the big deal was. He basically could not tell me why. I said 'how many people does your restaurant hold' and he said about 100 and I said so what's wrong with 14 coming at 9pm? Move some tables together, we'll have 2 or 3 waitresses, we won't under tip them or anything...but no. Why? He wouldn't tell me why. Just kept saying he couldn't do it. So I hung up on him.

The reason they won't do it is because they want a quick turn around time for their customers which means more customers per night which means more money for them. They want you to come in eat and leave. Not stay around. Well they were stupid because we were going to spend alot of money between drinks and food and tips. It might have been fun but he was a fool for brushing us off.

Re: Can anyone suggest a fun restaurant in the city for my bachelorette party?

Waikiki Wally's -it's dowtown near Lucky Chang's.
There are male & female hula dancers, but its just a bar/restaurant, not a show or anything, they have signature drinks & things. there were 3 bachelorett parties there when I went for a 3Oth birthday )

I didn't have the greatest time, but it had more to do with the people & that I didn't get my food ( HUGE group) & two people next to me ordred the same thing) but objectively, it is a fun place for a bachelorete party.

Re: Can anyone suggest a fun restaurant in the city for my bachelorette party?

I remember someone else having a serious problem with Mange e Bevi.

Tony DiNapolis is another family style Italian restaurant - there's one in times square and one on 2nd & 83rdish Street. I think their food is a little better then Carmines. The wait staff is very friendly. It's pretty easy to get reservations at the uptown location.

I really think any where you go with your friends will be fun no matter what restaurant you go to.

Re: Can anyone suggest a fun restaurant in the city for my bachelorette party?

I had mine at Cafe Espanol and they did a cool price fix dinner thing if you have enough people - It was like $35 for family style appetizer, choice of like 5-6 different entrees, dessert and unlimited Sangria or beer.

Cowgirl Hall of Fame is fun for a bachelorette party too.

I also would recommed Tony's, Carmines, La Mela or Sambuca if you like family style.

I hear Cafe Wa is fun - but never been.

I like spanish/mexican food for group activities and I find Chango, Rosa Mexicano, and Zarela - upbeat and fun.

Ruby Foos?

I would definitely stay away from Mangi y Bevi - I know the girl who had the very bad experience there (mgr threw a drink at her or something like that!). I went for b-day once and they sqeeze you at way too small tables and although the atmosphere can be fun - I find it overrrated. Another time with reservations they made us wait over an hour to be seted and our whole party was there ontime!!
