What is the first music video
You remember seeing?
Mine was the one for Sledge-hammer by Peter Gabriel. I was at my grandma's house. Even when I hear the song today, I see the video playing in my head! I don't know why it made such an impression on me.

yes i remember it too...but i don't know if i saw it first or not!?
i was soo upset because i grew up in queens and couldnt get cable and didnt get to see mtv for a while after it first aired. i would make excuses to visit all my aunts on L.I just to watch mtv. do any of the queens girls remeber U68?

Oh, and I didn't see it on MTV - I saw it one of those UHF channels!
My parents didn't want to get cable. I used to watch Friday Night Videos just so I could see music videos and not feel like a total dork 'cause I was like the only kid in school who didn't have cable!

I was living in germany and we didnt get MTV over there, one of my friends' cousins sent us a vcr tape of MTV, so we were so excited to watch it..the first video I saw was Van Halen's Hot for teacher! Very exciting to see videos!!

It was definitely Video Killed the Radio Star but I remember it being summer ?? maybe it was late august or early Sept. I remember all my friends in the neighborhood were so psyched - some of them didnt have cable so we all watched in my house. We always had cable, I remember back then we had that old brown remote control box with the big buttons on it and it had a wire that led to the TV. I LOVED MTV!!! I was about 9 or 10 when it debuted.
Another video that reminds me of that time was Golden Earring - Shoot that Poison Arrow or was it Twilight Zone??

Hmmm, first video I remember?
That's a TOUGH question, because I was about a year old when MTV debuted - it was always a part of my life.
I'm going to GUESS Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.
Does anyone remember Nick Rocks on Nickelodeon?! That was all I was allowed to watch for the longest time - NO MTV, unless while channel surfing I saw a video that I had seen on Nick Rocks.
That Nick Rocks excuse got me a LOT of extra video time that I shouldn't have gotten.

That was DEFINITELY the first video I saw also .. I thought it was sooooo diiiirty
then I think Cyndi Lauper and some Madonna videos were the next ones I clearly recall. Madonna's "borderline" to be exact, where I thought it was soo risque that she was showing her BELLY ! (O M G !! ) LOLOLOL
