Engagement party location suggestions?

FH's parents are throwing us an engagement party. Was originally supposed to be in their backyard, but now the work they're having done on their house won't be finished in time. Any suggestions in Suffolk or (eastern) Nassau?

Re: Engagement party location suggestions?

We had our at the American Legion Hall in our town. I was only a few hundres dollars to rent, and we had it catered by the local deli. We had a DJ too. It was a fun party and very inexpensive at the same time.

The Snapper Inn. I had mine there in October and it was great. The people there are great, the food is good and the price is reasonable. Plus, it's right on the water!

Re: Engagement party location suggestions?

Aprice range might be helpful along with cuisine preferences- do you want a restaurant or a hall?

Re: Engagement party location suggestions?

Probably around $30 per head for price range (prob. beer & wine only)...at a restaurant...we're not so picky about type of cuisine...we like everything!

I'm sure you can have a wedding there... but I wouldn't recommend the one in my town for a wedding. It was good for our e-party and my FSIL just had a christening there. It only fits 80 people.
Are you looking for an inexpensive place to have a wedding? Because if so, I am poor and I have seen a lot of affordable places. FM me

Re: Engagement party location suggestions?

The carriage House at the Milleridge Inn is really nice. You get the whole building to yourselves. You can decorate as you like, the food and service are excellent, and the guests who get there early can stroll around the village shops. I did my daughter's shower there are we were very pleased.
