Ques. about ceremony musc in a Catholic Church?
I have not met with our music director he says he'll contact me 2 weeks before the wedding to do the details (a little too close if you ask me but hey thats their policy)ANyway question is I have a young lady that i have coached for years and know very well who has an amazing voice and sings at her own Episcopal church who wants to sing at my ceremony which i would LOVE!!! So 1 - will they let her sing instead of theCantor? and 2 are the only songs at the wedding 'religious' songs or do they allow songs like 'the wedding song' and other songs that arent strictly religious?
Thank you for your help id love to hear what songs you used? Or will be using
Thanks
Vanessa

Re: Ques. about ceremony musc in a Catholic Church?
I know at our church, anyone ( singer wise) has to be approved and basically would be hard to have it happen ( they frown on it) As far as music goes, I dont know? I wanted an Enya song and am waiting to hear from music director to see if acceptable..Im guessing no...but ALL churchs are different as far as strictness goes it seems...

Enya has some beautiful songs...which one were you thinking of using???
Would you have someone else sing it or use the original Enya song?
I'm afraid to ask my church about my music
