Introducing myself!!!

Hello ladies! I am marrying on July 23, 2005 and am very behind on my planning!! I am having 450 guests, and am getting married in a Greek Orthodox church, although my backgroud is Italian....

Anyway, here is the big question...should I start looking for a dress? I thought it was too early, but I see from past posts that this is the time I should be doing it...

Help......

Dont worry you are not behind in planning, but you can definately start dress shopping!! It is lots of fun!

Oh my goodness... 450 people I dont think I even know that many people!

That is a huge wedding!! Sounds like it'll be a blast.

You're not behind on planning. But dress shopping is fun, so it's never to early to start that!

Welcome! I heard you should get your dress about a year before... I am getting married in Nov of 2005 so I haven't started to look yet, but I will probably do some shopping this summer :)

Hi I'm getting married in Oct 2005 and I have mu church, reception hall, photographer/video and I think i have my dj. Dress shopping will have to wait for the summer. Dont worry you have time.

Ps. This site is addicting. I have only been on for a month and I think i have carpel tunnel(sp??)

Hi Belinda and welcome!!!! I am getting married on July 31, 2005 and I have not done a thing!!! NOT ONE THING!! Except for knowing where I am getting married, everything else is up in the air. Just Saturday I made my first appointment to visit a photographer in Manhattan. Looking for a dress right now is really up to you. I was recently in Kleinfelds with a friend of mine and they told me I still have time but should definately start looking by October of this year. So I guess it is basically up to you - don't worry about it - do it when you feel it is right!

I do suggest you get an idea of what you want to do, etc. decide which chruch you will be getting married in (Orthodox or Catholic) since he is Greek, etc....and research various florists, photographers, etc before making appointments to see anyone. Enjoy your engagement and know we are all here if you need any help or opinions! GOOD LUCK with eveything and again CONGRATS!!

Hi, I am getting married April 29,2005. I just got my dress, but you have time. Everyone was telling me the same thing, but as long as you give yourself 8 months for the dress to come in and for alterations you are fine. You have another month or two.

congratulations. it is not too early to start looking for a dress. some dresses take up to a year to make. im a july bride too and i bought my dress in february because it does take a year to make. it all depends on the designer of the dress.
