I have 8 months till the wedding, and I feel that time is going by VERY FAST.. for the past year I've been planning the wedding in my head but havn't done anything really because I felt like I had SO much time..

What do i need to do? do you think I need to start ordering invites, doing place cards, etc. I need advice.. when did you all start to really kick your butt in gear with wedding stuff..

Take it down a level! You have plenty of time. U can start thinking about what u will give ur parents, BMs, groomsmen, etc.

Get and idea of invitations. I waited too long and couldn't get the custom ones that I wanted.

Think about extra little details that you may want to do yourself and maybe start working on those.


Time will fly bye! I am all 3 months still trying to lose weight, figure the little extras, etc and feel like I am running out of time.

Definitely relax though and enjoy it all.

When did I really start kicking into full wedding planning gear? Um, well about last week!!! When we hit the 4 month mark, I had all the big things done but I suddenly realized that alot of little things had piled up because I had started slacking thinking I had PLENTY of time.... I do still have time, I just don't like feeling overwhelmed by a long list so NOW I'm knocking things off left and right.

This is what you need to do now... START LOOKING FOR EVERYTHING... meaning browse/shop for everything and anything -- invites, favors, etc because then, when the time actually COMES to order and decide, amazingly the decision will be easy because you will already have a pretty good picture of what's out there, how much it costs, and what YOU like and want. Trust me, this helped alot for especially when it came to flowers. When my wedding was in 2005, I collected tons of flowers pics.... when I moved up my wedding to 2004 and it was time to book a florist, I realized that I already knew EXACTLY what I wanted because I had been browsing for so long.

So that's what I think you should be doing with this time... shop favors, shop invites, shop shoes for the BMs, jewelry, place card holder, RD locations, unity candles, garters, all the LITTLE things that have suddenly piled up on me!!

As far as the BIG things you can do you DJ now, wedding night hotel room, limos (though you might want to wait until prom season is over on these), ceremony music, makeup and hair.

take a vacation! lol ... You have a lot done, I would just take a month to relax and just enjoy yourself. I know if I dont wedding stuff nonstop I go crazy, I took a month break and it was great

See my thing is I want TO BE DONE about 4 months before the wedding. DONE.. i'll be graduating in February and getting married in march, so pretty much february and march are out.. so that leaves me 7 monhts.. i just don't want to stress about anything..
