One of my college friends gave me a gift card as my wedding gift.

But, the envelope never had the actual plastic card in it.

I called the store and they said that if she has her register receipt, or even knows that day and location of her purchase, they can issue me a new card.

I haven't spoken to her since the wedding. She and I usually communicate via email.

I am kind of too embarrassed to tell her that her gift card needs to be replaced and that I need this info...

HELP

Any thoughts on how I can phrase this to her?

I think the fact that you talk via email would make it A LOT easier than doing it in person...Just tell her that it was missing...mabye it fell out of the envelope...I don't think it is a biggie

I agree. Since you speak with her often, just mention it. It might have even fallen out at her house and she doesn't know it. How much time has passed? I wouldn't wait too long to address it.

I would definitely mention it to her....if I spent my money on a gift card and it somehow gotlost I would hope the person would tell me. I would hate to think I spent that money for no reason.
