Proof read this email.. am I being Wench about it??? (Update sent a simple calm email, and got a reply)
I want to send this back because frankly Im kinda ticked... (ok I'm ticked) Im feeling like bridezilla here.. I want to pick out my freaking roses you wench.. SEND ME THE FABRIC!Dear XXXX,
What does this mean?
'Note: Our swatches are only as big as we can afford to send, given the size of our piece in stock and the fact that we send them to brides all over the country. '
Can you give me measurements of the swatch? I just want to use it for the florist ONLY. The dresses are being delivered to me, but I can't see myself holding a dress hostage so I can go to the florist. Worse, I'd need to haul the entire dress with me as I'd be holding a dress that hasn't been altered and I can't just sip off a piece of it.
I can't understand why you suggest I would need to buy 3 feet of fabric to pick out bi-colored roses to match. Seems a bit extreme.
Please provide me with an approximate measurement of the swatch you are sending me.
Thank you,
Veronica
UPDATE: I obviously didnt send this.. see below for the one liner I sent. And her reply.
When I first wrote this I as having 'one of those days' and was very angry. Im much calmer now.

Re: Need help quick.. proof read this email.. am I being Wench about it???
before i voted, i wanted to make sure the story is straight-you want the BM dress company to send you a swatch of fabric so that you can bring it to your florist? OK so they wont send you anything but 3 feet that you have to pay for?
ok.. if this is right, no i dont think your wrong, but i dont really know why you would need a swatch at al for the flowers??
i had one of my BM order extra legnth on her dress, so that i can use the fabric from the gown to wrap the stems of all of the boo-k's.. i got that idea from one of the girls where i got my bm dresses from.

Re: Need help quick.. proof read this email.. am I being Wench about it???
I want bi colored roses.. florist is trying to work with me to get the right 'hue' of yellow and reds.. (yep Im picky).NONE of my girls are in the same state as me. So I can't just sip from theirs even if I wanted to when they 'come in'.
They said they send me something.. but were really murky on how much. That quote up there was straight from their email to me.
They suggested I buy a yard of material instead.
When I originally requested the 'swatch' I said it was for the florist only. I even said 'i understand lots are different and I don't intead to dye shoes or anything I just want to use it to get close to the color I want in roses'

hehehe (i'm the one who hit 'that' button)No, it's not harsh. But, keep in mind that you get more flies with honey.
If you want this woman to do something for you, you're going to have to motivate her. Usually, being REALLY nice, or saying how much you'll recommend her to others works...

I think if you want this woman to get you the swatch you may just have to be nice to her...I know its frustrating but just expln to her you only need a small piece of fabric....

Re: Need help quick.. proof read this email.. am I being Wench about it???
Her email sounds a little nasty so I don't know what's preceeded this but a swatch will probably 1 or 2 inches square. That should be enough for the florist to match up. That's all my florist had to work with and it was fine.I would just ask her to send you what she has and if you really need a bigger piece, then buy the yard as she suggested but I doubt it would be necessary.

Re: Need help quick.. proof read this email.. am I being Wench about it???
Here was the response I got:Hello Veronica,
All of the swatches vary in size. Like I said before...Our swatches are only as big as we can afford to send, given the size of our piece in stock and the fact that we send them to brides all over the
country. If you find the swatch piece you receive is not big enough for
your needs, you have another option: you can purchase a yard of fabric if
you desire and we can often get it soon. It takes about 2-3 weeks to get if
the factory has the material in house.

i think your first email says everything you need to say. it may be a touch too long, but it serves it purpose.

Ok, I'm kinda confused... why can't you use the swatch that they sent you? If you only need it for the florist to match it, then even a very small 1x1 piece of fabric should suffice.

Re: Need help quick.. proof read this email.. am I being Wench about it???
i agree why cant you use the one they sent - a florist should be able to match even to a tiny swatch - why do you need a measurement of the piece ?they probabaly dont sent regular sized pieces but left over scrap after they have made the gown - so there isnt a uniform size - why is it so important to know what size it is ?
you are getting a piece of fabric - what difference does it make?
if you feel you need a huge piece then you should order the yard - i think you are being kinda difficult.
what's the deal?

Umm...whatever sixe they send should be fine,. My sister had a piece like 1 inchy by 2 inches and the florist made an amazong color combination...And yes, it's a good idea to rbing a swatch to the florist... the pictures look amazing when then flowers and dress complement each other so well...I'll try to post apic of my dress/flowers form my sister's wedding to show you what I mean

A) I never got one
B) This started because I asked for one and instead of just sending one they gave an ugly reply
C) I don't really care how small the swatch is, all I asked was why can't they tell me, is that so difficult? Is it some sort of big secret?
What's the deal? I guess, if you don't get it, I couldnt explain it to you. Lets just say it's about the 'way' things are said.
D) And note, I haven't been difficult. I've been (so far) VERY nice to these people. Considering they've already accidently double charged me for the dresses.
*shrug*
