Best time for first fitting?

My dress just arrived (really early) at the shop... wedding isn't until 10/31... when is the best time to get my first fitting? Now? Or wait a few months?

I'm a week before you and I was told late August for the first one then the next one will be in October. It's killing me that it's in the store and I can't try it on. I guess if you're body weight fluctuates then late August should be ok. Call them and see what the bridal store says!

After the heat dies down is best. A woman's body gains a lot of water weight in the summer time (which will explain why none of my shoes fit).

If you wait to have the fitting, I'd at least go to the store and try it on to make sure it 'almost' fits. Or if its 5 sizes to big and your first fitting is 4 weeks before the wedding you'd be SOL.

Mine is in & my fitting is August 26th. People have told me to go check it out now, but that wasn't anoption. i guess I could ask, but I'm not really on LI during the week ever.

I didn't even think of that! I know a girl who ordered her dress, went in to check it out when it arrived, and it was the wrong dress! I think I'll be making a visit to the shop VERY soon... thanks!!
