Hilton Garden Inn on Old Country Road in Westbury wanted $179 + tax a night in JANUARY! I laughed then walked out! It's ludicrous!

I just think what they are asking is ridiculous especially when you are guaranting them business. Supposely that is the group rate, like they are doing me a favor!

I don't think you can get a hotel for much less, unfortunately.

We got an even higher price. The Marroit my sister used (near Villa Lombardi) was only $99 and that included shuttle!!!!! I guess it depends on the area.

I know! I looked at the woman, I said what is that offering?? Breakfast included? Nope! Room Service at an extra cost? Nope, maybe some fries or nachos! Bridal Suite? Nope! A bar? Nope! As far as I am concerned the hotel had nothing to offer me for $179 a night.

I'll pay that to go to one of the bigger hotels where they might have a resturant or a bar or even a menu other than fries.

Julie, which Marriot?

ETS: The one I am using is $109 a night, it's the Courtyard Marriot in Ronkonkoma. But it doesn't include a shuttle.

Re: Does anyone else think $139 plus 9.5% tax is too much $$$ for a hotel room? Especially when you a blocking a number of rooms!

I got quoted the same ($139) for the Holiday Inn right next to Chateau Briand. They told me that the regular fee is $169 so I thought it was decent. I wish I could get something a little cheaper, but if my guests stay there they dont have to worry about transportation after the wedding (so they can drink and not drive) and that was important to me.

I think this was the one. I can't find any of the info I threw it all out. But it was like 3 mins from Villa Lombardi. Maybe ask someone who is getting married there? They might know.

My guests are paying 175$ I think for the Inn at Fox Hollow. So I think that is a good deal.

The Islandia Marriott offers the free shuttle to Villa Lombardi. went to a wedding there about two years ago and the rate was $149 for our room. And it STUNK!! We ended up driving home at 2 in the morning because our room was on the top floor and it rained while we were at the wedding and the ceiling in the room leaked all over the bed and our clothes. They didn't have any other rooms available in the hotel!

Mine's $99/night. And yes, I do think $139 is a ton. It's LI, not NYC! Keep looking.
