Ladies help I had to change my gift idea for my mom...(VENT ALSO)

and my gran. My FMIL claims it is bad luck to give a person a hankerchef(which was what I was planning to get my mom and gran) so now my FI feels I should get them something else because then it would look like I am ignoring what his mother said. I am so sick of this crap. This woman DRIVES me up a wall. Mind u I have never heard of this superstition and apparently neither has half the known planet because I asked about 20 people today. Help me please!!!

I have never heard of that either.

Did you already order the handkerchief to be embroidered? If so, what about putting it in a bi-fold frame and adding a picture of you with your mom or grandma with a promise to replace it with a wedding picture.

If you didn't order the hankie yet, you could always write a letter or put a poem on one side of the frame.

i never heard of that i gave my mom and dh mom and grandma one. i would perhaps give it to them at another time if you already bought and maybe buy them a nice picture frame or vase instead

I did not purchase them yet but now I am stumped as to what to get them. I want something sentimental and sweet.

Try looking here, they have some really sweet things. I got a picture frame and it was really nice.

In my opinion if that is what you want to get your mom and gran then I would, just dont get one for you FMIL. There are thousands of superstitions out there and if we (as brides) had to listen to every one of them I think we would all be bald from pulling out our hair. I would explain to her that you are not ignoring what she said, but that in the end you made your decision. JMO.

I like the idea of the painting. And I am going to check out that site. Thank you. Ladies I honestly just want to say mind your business to her but we are so close to the day that I don't want any added stress. I want to pull my hair out as it is.
