GETTING MARRIED SEPT. 4, 2004 - WYNDHAM WIND WATCH SOLD!!!!!

I happened to be reading Newsday yesterday when I ran across an article that the Wyndham Wind Watch Hotel has been sold.
(For all of you Hamlet girls - no worries - they are seperate entities).

No one told me anything! I had to call them! And they have little to no information. No one even knows what the hotel will be called!

I spoke with the director of sales and was told that my contract would be honored but that they could not make any guarentee's about staff, service, food, etc... The hotel is going to be called a new name within 40 - 70 days. So what do I tell my 400 guests who have invitations for a reception at the Wyndham Wind Watch Hotel?

I have a meeting with the Hotel management on Friday - I also have calls out to other catering facilities. I have a feeling I may be out of luck!

They will honor all contracts, so if you have rooms blocked for your guests they will still be able to stay there. I would suggest you call and speak to someone in sales to see about the name change.

OH man, all of my guests are staying there and we are having the brunch there the next day, it better still be good and the same price!!! thanks for the info by the way

They will still honor that. I would just make sure that you follow up with the Wyndham.

This happened to my cousin in Ohio last month. They booked when it was one hotel and then the Marriott bought it. This was after the invites already went out with the previous hotel name and info on it. The Marriott still honored everything that was set.

The Marriott sent everyone a postcard letting them know that the name of the hotel has changed and that we should look for the new name instead. They filled in all the info on the wedding we were set to attend and the dates we were staying there. See if the new owners will do that for you! That will make it a lot easier for you and less stressful!

My boss is concerned because his son's barmitzfa(sp?) is there in November. Is it in today's Suffolk Newsday?

i just spoke to the woman who arranged our reservations and she said not to worry...

i guess i will just have to update people as the rsvps come in!
