I love the place we booked (just had to share)

I love Stewart Manor CC!

I went by this weekend for a tasting. Kinda late when you realize we booked the place last August, but Jim really wanted to try the food.

James, the BM, was busy with another couple when we got there so we walked around a bit. They were setting up for a wedding. A small wedding about the size ours will be. It was great to see what it’s going to look like actually set up. As Jim and I walked around and looked at the set up and the grounds we fell in love again with the place.

It’s not the GRAND beauty of other places, but it’s so warm and homey and comfortable. The light coming through the skylights was gorgeous! It’s so nice to reaffirm how much we love our place. Kinda freaky though when I stood in the center of the main area where I’m getting married and looked down to the fireplace and realized I’d have to walk that distance. SCARY! Saving grace was Jim has to walk the aisle too (there’s no side entrances).

I got to check out the Bridal Suite that’s been remodeled and we watch the staff as they set up. All very reassuring. They made us really comfortable. The food was GREAT. We had pasta, eggplant lasagna ? and sausage with peppers as choices for the cocktail hour. I don’t even LIKE eggplant but this stuff was GREAT!

We tossed some fairly odd questions at James, lanterns to hang from beams, linen’s colors, cocktail hour flowers, etc. He was great with everything! We’re having oriental appetizers as well as mini tacos and BBQ Brisket for the carving table. Not your ordinary stuff, but a thread here got me thinking I should have what I want. We’re even bringing in our BBQ Sauce Jim & I love directly from Texas!

Honestly, I love this place. They’ve been fantastic. I can’t say enough about them. James makes us both feel so at home and really glad he’ll be there the day of. He’s even going to change his normal outfit to all black as to not offend our “no white” theme for the wedding. White is bad luck in Chinese cultures. He’s helped us FINALLY solve a problem about the centerpieces and offered to go shopping with me to help find other pieces!

I just had to share. It’s like that first time feeling all over again. I’m so glad I booked them!

i'm so glad you're glad!

seriously - that's great...when you book things so far in advance, you sometimes second guess yourself - so it's really great when you have an opportunity to be reminded of why you booked when you did!

I loved that place too. It was up there with the possible halls before we saw Woodbury CC. James was sooo nice, I remember that clearly. He wanted us to ask him more questions so he could help more, you know? A co-worker has gone to a wedding there and he said it was GREAT!

That's cool. Are you wearing white to keep the American part of the tradition or ivory or something else?

I had never heard of your hall, but now I recomend that people chcek it out, because it seems pretty & affordable, even though I've never been there.

I'm glad you are happy & I know you will have a great day.

My brother had his wedding there a few years ago and it was great! You will have a wonderful time. One of the great things about SMCC is that the cocktail hour and the bar are each in their own room, and you can circulate around the place throughout the wedding. It was our #2 choice- good luck!
