Opinion of this dress? With pics!
Hi Ladies!I have started to look at a few dresses and came across this dress. I really like it. But I am trying to decide if it is modern looking or more victorian. What do you think? I am full figure so I definitely cannot wear sleeveless and thought this was elegant looking.

the dress is beautiful just make sure that when you try it on the material wont itch or scratch your skin (remember you are going to have it on for hours)

Yeah thats true didn't think of that. It is by Priscilla of Boston. I really like it but I think I am going to wait until early next year to buy a dress. I change my mind too often to buy one too early

I think it is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everytime I see it in the mags I love it.It has a victorian flavor, but is classic looking IMO. Are you opposed to having a victorian touch to your dress? What type of wedding are you having?
At least try it on!

I actually tried on the Demetrios version of that dress. I liked it a lot. The only reason why I didn't get it is that the jacket was really hot!!!! I knowyou can take the jacket off, but I am getting married outside at a time of year where it can still be warm out. I didn't want to sweat during the ceremony!

Thanks! I think it is pretty but I definitely need to try it on. There is a Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn Heights I can go try it on. Now I want to go...haha. I am not opposed to having a victorian touch just didn't want it to be older looking. I am trying to have a romantic and classic wedding. All red flowers, candles, linens. The ballroom is wooden so going for a classic look. Thank for your opinion!

I love that dress, it is so romantic. I think Alfred Angelo also makes a similiar one, I've seen it in Bride's mag. Or maybe it was Watters & Watters??

I think it is gorgeous!!! There are two girls on this site that are wearing something very similar. I think Ericia and I can't think of the other bride.

Yes I have seen Erica in her dress and she looks beautiful. It is very similar to this. She told me she got it at David's Bridal. I think it is by Oleg Cassini. There are just so many choices. So much fun!

Re: Opinion of this dress? With pics!
No offense, but what do you mean that you DEFINITELY cant wear sleeveless because you are plus sized??? Oh YES you can - you can wear whatever the heck you want!!!!Plus you have plenty of time to work on your arms.
Dont mind me, I am just going crazy with the constant fat remarks regarding my wedding with my family!
But seriously, you can wear whatever you want.....I am looking at something with short sleeves myself, but only because sleeveless is just not my style.

I LOVE that dress. Every single time that I see that dress in the magazine I think to myself that if I was getting married in the cooler weather I would def. wear it. I love the way the cut is and how it looks. Did you try it on yet? How does it look in person?

I haven't tried it on yet but definitely plan on it. I don't want to go shopping too early and buy one and then change my mind. I figure I will start looking early next year.Kim

I love that dress! a few years ago there was some tv show about celebrity weddings and pierce brosnan's wife wore a dress just like that - they got married at a castle in Ireland. She wore the lace coat for the church and removed it for the reception for dancing. I had never seen that style and thought it was so beautiful and classy.Definitely try it on!!!!
