I'm New... And I have a few questions....

First, Hi to all I have been reading the boards for a couple of months now, and all of you out there truly helped me with my best friend's wedding and bridal shower, more than you'll ever know. Thank you...
Well, now I'm next, And I'm trying to keep the wedding expenses to a minimum (Yeah Right), but I was curious if anyone has ever used the reception halls that offer the whole package deal (Photo, video, flowers, DJ) and if they were really happy with the outcome. I would love to pick each vendor seperatley, but the packages are very ideal to my budget.. I'm just afraid of being disappointed.. Any and all opinions are welcome ...

Hello and Welcome. I have seen the package deals also, but to me it just seems to good to be true...and you get what you pay for. I am sure it is not terrible but you should really research it all before you commit to it. You can always put the most money into what is impotrant to you the most and spend less on what is least. there are pleanty of ways to have a beautiful wedding and cut back on things such as invitations which today it is so easy to do yourself, flowers which can be bought at a wholesaler and assembled by you and your bridal party, I think as long as you have good food, music and booze fun will be had by all. Just be careful on what you choose so you will not be disapointed. good luck and happy planning.

The package deals can be very cost effective, just make sure to check out all the vendors that you must use before signing the catering hall contract. Make sure that if invites are included that you can see some and like one. If the photo is included, check out the package. Find out how much upgrades would be for say flowers or pictures.

Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale offers these as well as Ariana Waterfall -- there is one bride who had her wedding at STM recently and another who will be getting married at AW... do a search on those halls!

I know one place that offers that is Orion Palace, in Brooklyn. The place is beutiful, and I have been to a wedding there, thought everything was nice. However, this place is pretty expensive, I don't know what your budget is.

Re: I'm New... And I have a few questions....

Welcome --- I was married at the George Washington Manor (first time around) in 1994. Their package deal included just the flowers and decorations, but it was very reasonable. Their prices are quite fair and overall the wedding was wonderful. Size can be an issue as I think they only go to about 150 people -- I had 75 and it was perfect.

Good luck!!
