How does this e-mail sound to send to my FMIL about guest list..

Can you tell I'm nervous.. lol

I was trying to figure out when we'll need the guest list by. We have 7 months until the wedding, and we need to order the invites 5 months before the wedding, (the woman told us that). In case of error. we need to give the envelopes to the calligrapher 4 weeks before the send out date. we wanted to send out the invites end of january beginning of February. about 6 weeks before the wedding. We will need an idea of how many you want to invite by september?? I think December will be too late. that will only leave us 3 months to stuff,tie bows,calligrapher,send, receive RSVP's. Also, we were going to see how many people you wanted to invite before we finalized our guest list. After your count, we are going to see how close we can get to our 150 minimum. My mother gave me her list and there are about 40. Hopefully we can get close. I don't think we'll have a problem.

Here is an idea of how it will go.. let me know what you think??!!!
September/October- Finalize guest list
October- Order Invites
November-Receive Invites
December- Stuff/put together invites, get favors-send invites to calligrapher
January/February-Send out invites receive RSVP's
March- Wedding

I think u need to sound more assertive. Take out the 'I am trying to figure out' and tell her when u need it by. Take out the question marks after September. It definitely was a good idea to let her know that your mom already gave u her list. I also think u should take out the last 2 lines beginning with hopefully. JMO and Good Luck!!! I know how it is to deal with difficult FMIL.

No your not!!! But if this lady is anything like my FMIL u have to be firm. My FMIL gave me a hard time about the guest list also.

I think it sounds good, I like the timeline, I think that may light the lightbulb in her head. If that makes sense.

i think it could have been a little more assertive too but sometimes you can catch more flies with honey lol wow i sound like my mother lol. let us know how it goes

I hope you don't mind me saying but because your wedding is 3/12/05, I think you may want to send the invitations out by the beginning of January, the latest.

I think you sent out 'save the date' cards? So hopefully people know by now if they can make your wedding. Still..I would be nervous waiting until February.

lol.. I know.. but we're not inviting any of my dads side (long story) so basically just moms side.. fine by me.. My FMIL list will about 175!! Thats why i want it SO BAD!!!!! And them I'm inviting like 60 and Fi is inviting like 60 so we have quite a list..
