Suggestions for Engagment Party Favors
Fh and I are having our engagment party next weekend. It's pretty small (30 people) and we would like to give them a small token of appreciation for coming. Does anyone have a simple, inexpensive suggestions. My creativity quotient is nil! Thanks!

I don't mean to sound cheap, but you'd be amazed at the things you can find at a good dollar store. You can get cute candles, frames, candy, etc... and since 30 isn't too many, you should be able to get everything matching. For my e-party we gave cute vases and for my shower we're going with a 'From Nicole's shower to yours' theme and we got these little bath bags with a loufa and nail brush. We bought soaps (3 for $1) and small boxes of bath beads. Each favor is costing about $1.75 and I think they're really cute. They're better than some of the favors I've gotten before.

Re: Suggestions for Engagment Party Favors
My first engagement party was about 30 people and we ordered a round chocolate lollipop with an engagement ring on it the diamond had white chocolate and the band was yellow painted white chocolate. A great place is the Chocolate Duck or Bon Bons (Huntington Village) or if your looking for and quick and inexpensive but tasty chocolate I hear the Sweet Nut Hut in Deer Park on Deer Park Avenue is great. They are all listed. Or if you want a nicer gift for my second engagement party which was about 100 guest, we gave out 5x7 frames with hand painted flowers on them. I'm not sure of the name of the place because my future mother in law ordered them, but you can look them up. They are in Glen Cove on Forest Avenue Across from the American Community Bank.

We are having our party in the backyard and all the paper goods are white and pink roses. So I bought rose molds and pink and white chocolate from Michael's. I also bought little plastic bags & pink ribbon. It's easy, inexpensive, & homemade.

We did personalized candles from Yankee Candle. They came out great! They were clear votive holders with our names and wedding dates etched on them. We put a wrapped votive of their 'wedding day' scent in each. We wrapped them in a pretty white toule and added a white personalized ribbon that had our names and the day we were engaged on them. Everyone commented how they loved them and they were useable.

I think candy or anything edible is a great idea. Just keep it simple. We gave out pretty champagne flutes with hersey kisses wrapped in tulle. I also like the 99 cent store idea! You can find tons of cute candles and things there. Try the one on Old Country Rd next to Century 21.

You might be able to find minature beach pails (I've seen them online - they are about 3 inches tall) or mini-baskets at Michaels Craft Store and stuff them with hershey kisses or other edibles.Or to play up your BBQ venue, how about wrapping small bottles of BBQ sauce or mason jars of homeade lemonade in a checkered red and white napkin and tying with a ribbon?
