Hotels out East (Suffolk)

Danielle and I are looking to spend a couple of days out east, after we get back from the honeymoon. We are coming back monday night and I was thinking that we can go out east from Wednesday to Friday or something. I thought it would be a nice way to finish up our honeymoon week.

We were looking at the Montauk manor but it is $250 a night and that is way too expensive.

Does anyone know of any other nice hotels or inns to stay at? I was thinking about the Inn at Fox Hollow. Has anyone stayed there over night?

Maybe something else....closer to the outlets....

Thanks,
Scott

What about one of the bed and breakfasts on the North Fork?

Re: Hotels out East (Suffolk)

I never stayed in a bed and breakfast. Do you recommend them over a hotel?

Re: Hotels out East (Suffolk)

For a quiet, romantic feel, yes. If you want mega privacy, no. A lot of B&B's you eat at a table with the other guests. Check out the Inns, then. You can check out the Eastwind, but from what I hear, they are expensive. I recommend Greenport the most. It's GORGEOUS there and so much to do.

The Rams Head Inn on Shelter Island is really nice, too.

When I was younger, my friend had a house on shelter island. We used to go out there all the time. The Rams head inn, is that new?

Re: Hotels out East (Suffolk)

Ok, it says it was built in 1929, may not have been an inn this whole time.

Re: Hotels out East (Suffolk)

The Ram's Head has been there for at least 10 years, they have great food. There is also the Pridwin on Shelter Island which is over by the Sunset Hotel(which looks like a motel, but great drinks!) The Pridwin has or at least used to have, not sure about this year, a beach bbq every wednesday, I think it's about $25 to go with all you can eat and drink.
There are a couple of really nice places in Montauk also. One that comes to mind, mostly cuz the food is amazing is the Sunrise Guest House. The rooms are really small and old though...not ratty, just an old house with cozy type rooms. Check out www.Montaukchamber.com
Good luck!!

Re: Hotels out East (Suffolk)

There are some beautiful B&B's in the hamptons, but they can get pricey during the summer... we checked out the Inn at Quogue for a wedding, and it was adorable and fairly inexpensive (I think about $100 per night, but that was for late October)... also, the place where we are having our wedding is a really nice inn (Southampton Inn)... the price is $169 per night, but again, that's for October... I'm sure it's much more in August...this site gives some more of the better B&B's out on the south fork:
