May 8, 2004 Our Wedding

Well,
It's been two months since our wedding day. I didn't really have much time to write about it until now.

I don't want to bore all of you....so I will try to keep it short!

The day started out like any other day for me. I got up, showered, kissed my fiance goodbye and told him to not be late!
Then drove myself from Queens to Masapequa where we were to be married. With making a stop at the Salon first. Everything was going as planned. We were all thrilled...I got to the Riviera and counted one by one to make sure my BM's were there. I sent them to get dressed, then began to dress myself, with the help of my MOH.

The dress was about to be zipped completely up, when 'S**T!!! was all I heard...I began to panic that the beads got caught and began to come off from the dress...After begging my BMs to tell me what happend...they told me that the Zipper was caught on the fabric and as they tried to fix it the zipper seperated from the dress!
Now normally I would have flipped out...but instead, I was calm, and thought what can be done now...with like ten minutes to walking down the isle?
Well, Thank god I brought a small travel sewing kit, and asked my FMIL to Sew me up. She did, as did my BM's...they had to also use safety pins. Well...I walked down the isle very carefully, and half and hour late...and still my dress popped open..Luckily few noticied, and its hard to see in pics.
We had sent someone out to a sewing store to get thick thread and a large needle and I was fixed after the ceremony. The Reception was AMAZING...we had a wonderful time, and I kept thinking..this isn't a dream...its really here...and its going by so fast!
IN the end it was a dream come true with a funny story to tell all!
My husband had to call the front desk for some scissors to cut me out of my dress! It was funny. The next day, I graduated from Graduate School and the following day we left
to the Bahamas and had a blast .
Always remember to just enjoy the moment as it is happening as it goes by soo fast!
P.S.
I did fight and win, to get a full refund on my dress, with a brand new zipper put in!
