Re: Best Wedding Favor?

I was thinking that the most practical favors would be best also. I know my parents once received a spoonrest as a favor & my mom loved the idea. She uses it all the time.

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

Either the ice bucket we got at fh's cousins wedding. ( we have used it a few times)

or the one we honestly use the most...
Mikasa heart shaped candy dishes. We have them out with candies all the time for guests lol

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

My FSIL had a December Snowflake wedding/Christmas. She gave out wedding christmas tree balls in Navy with whitelettering. It is nice because every year I will put it up on my tree and remember what a great night I had. I really liked it!!

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

The two most used, are a huge hand poured candle and a mikasa candy dish.

The candle came in handy during last year's blackout.

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

I'm glad you have all used the Mikasa cady disehs! My favors are Mikas candydish/bowls. I hope at least some people will use them.

The best favor got was at a shower 3 years a go. It was a little alst box, painted with flowers by the bride's brother. It was filled with hershey kisses. I ate the chocolate on the train ride home & I keep match books in the box.

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

Honestly... we attended a wedding in Oct after 911 and they donated to the NYPD $ NYFD widows and children fund. It was the best way they could have spent that money!

I have also received a mikisa candy/votive dish which I do have to say sits on top of my TV with a candle in it
A cake cutting knife that I think we threw out, a deck of cards ('the perfect match') which we actually used once, a bottle of wine that we definitely liked and drank, a CD we listened to once, and a seed packet of wild flowers I actually planted and thought about them every time I walked past them.

The only thing I've ever gotten is candles, but we're giving cookie cutters. It seems like a cute idea. :)

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

We have received so many of the Mikasa candy dishes, but do actually use two of them. The wine was good because we drank it. We received monogrammed cookies, which were my favorite. All the guests were out of town, so it was nice to have on the plane ride home. I have also recieved a few cds, which are nice if you have the same taste as the B&G. I too have received a handpainted Christmas ornament, which was cute (but for a July wedding?). At a Christmas wedding we went to we got one of those gourmet chocoalte apples *YUM!* and a seedling for a tree.

Re: Best Wedding Favor?

I'm giving out Gorham crystal bowl's that I found in the Riverhead outlet. Originally they are sold in the department stores for $30, I found them for $7.50 (one fourth of the retail cost) you have to really shop around. Other than that if that's not with in your budget, I love candles everyone uses and loves them.
