Who is your all time FAVORITE Yankee?
I don't know if I can pick just one .. so many favorites from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today..
But if I have to pick just one, it would be Donnie Baseball!!

Jim Leyritz is an interesting choice! Always such a clutch-player and came through with the BIG home runs!

I agree with you 100%. When I graducated from HS my dad brought me a signed Don Mattingly jersey. I love Donnie Baseball!!!!!!

Donnie is definitely one of my favs. I also love Paulie...miss his Irish temper!!
ETA: OMG, how could I forget my Tino...still love him as a Devil Ray

Paul O'Neill was at the sports store in Roosevelt Field in June. I was going to go but overslept!  I did met Leyritz there in May tho... I have to get the pic off the other computer!!

I dunno why, I ALWAYS loved him... and I have a jersey with 13 on it but now people will think its Rodriguez! I like him too but hes not what it's meant for 
Ripken is just awesome... I was actually at the game in Baltimore where he broke the streak... we went all the way there to see him (and the stadium) and for one of the first time sin his career he didn't play!!! I also saw him three times the year he retired, once in Baltimore, once in Boston and once in NY... got a ton of retirement stuff... all boxed up in my attic :)

Older favorite- Phil Rizzuto
Newer Favorite- Don Mattingly
I also used to like Scott Brosius and Luis Soho when they played, they were always laughing and also seemed to really enjoy playing, it seemed like they were always having fun instead of stressing like some other players!!

Oh yes! I could not agree more! Paulie  and Tino are tied for my two most recent faves from the past 10 years. Both great guys, terrific players ... and heck I'll admit it -- they are both SO HOT in my book!!

There ain't NOBODY who wants to mess with 23! (that's a quote from a SHeDAISY song, yes I'm confusing references, but whatever).
Also I love Paul O'Neill. I have two Yankee teddy bears - one named Mattingly and the other named Paulie. Incidentally, one of our Groomsmen looks JUST like Paul O'Neill, but he is a Mets fan and HATES it when people tell him that.
I've got Mom ALL READY to meet him.

Wow there are so many greats it is hard to choose.
Since I am a youngin and never saw most of these guys play ( except on yankees classic on YES) I would pick Thurman Munson for his leadership. He will be forever be "the Captian".
I would also pick Micky Mantle as well. He was just an all around great player.

I can't possibly decide. Too many to choose from! Yogi Berra! Don Mattingly! Phil Rizzuto! (I LOVE him... does anyone else have that book of "The Poetry of Phil Rizzuto"? It's so funny -- got a copy for my dad for Father's Day one year.) I always liked Paul O'Neill a lot. I adore Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams. Had a big crush on David Cone (as noted elsewhere). I could go on and on...

I met Tino also at the Fan Festival- I have a pic with him as well Unfortunatley my dad drop-kicked my scanner in the process of moving it and its not working anymore!!
