I'm starting South Beach..

I'm gonna go food shopping tommorow and start on Thursday so wish me luck...Iw ent dress shopping tonight( late, late , late in the game) and I felt like a fat marshmellow in those dresses! At my weight, the color white and tulle ACCENTUATES the fat and I hated it, I did not feel beautiful, I felt gross...so off I go...
It's a 50 goal by March 1st...I will be happy with 40...
So anyone who needs support, FM me and vice versa!!

Forget it! I was absolutely awful today! Had popcorn and soda at the movies, pasta for dinner, and ice cream for dessert!

Re: I'm starting South Beach..

Congratulations! I'm done with Phase 1 on Friday and I lost 13 lbs in the first 8 days. From then on, it's been pretty slow, a 1/2 lb here and there. One tip for the grocery shopping--either bring the book with you so you can reference the 'foods to enjoy' or make a serious list before you go. It was really overwhelming because I just brought the daily menus with me.

I did some shopping last night...Picked up stuff to last me at least a few days( 7-8)...till I get used to it..I think you said you had the cookbook right? Anything easy in there? Some of this stuff I just dont eat, Im afraid of eating shrimp/and chicken for dinner every night?

Re: I'm starting South Beach..

The cookbook is pretty good. There are not a huge amount of Phase 1 recipes, but the ones they do have are pretty simple in terms of ingredients because you're so limited in what you can have. One thing that might be good is to take some chicken and stuff it with low fat mozzarella and a piece of ham--a cordon bleu kind of thing. There's got to be a low carb/low sugar dijon out there right?

Re: I'm starting South Beach..

I lost 11 lbs on South Beach in 3 weeks. After that I kind of got lazy, so I went back to eating basically normal. I've kept off the 11, but I need to get back on it so I can lose another 20!

My sister lost 25 lbs on it and my BIL lost 30. It's great if you can stick w/it!

Re: I'm starting South Beach..

OMG, I am so happy I found this topic. I just started South Beach today, and I need all the help I can get. FH lost 40 lbs on it, but I gave up on week one. I want to do South Beach for a couple of weeks to get a boost, then I want to switch to WW. How is everybody doing on it????

Re: I'm starting South Beach..

I'm down ten lbs and Its been about 2 1/2 weeks now....I cheated by having too much red wine one night and a sliver of ice cream cake the other night, I think I might have been up to say 12 lbs if I hadnt which to me is a LOT, so Im happy with the results so far and Im not having trouble with it, but it took me a lot to get this point of no dostractions from losign the weight~

Good luck!!!! Keep me (us) informed!
