Holy cow, mom and fmil making me nervous.. lol

Today my mom calls, and she's like, the wedding starts at 7pm, wow thats kind of late, nobody is going to stay that late, I guess they can leave after the ceremony..

I was like MOM, they aren't 1,000 years old, the wedding gets over at 12:30, that's like a late dinner night, nobody goes out to dinner until 7 or 8 on saturdays anyway right??

my FMIL did the same thing to me! (mind you she did this 8 months AFTER I had booked my reception and she agreed to it at that time, but that's a whole other post!). Personally, I think that's fine-its a Saturday, people can stay out late on a Saturday! and 12:30's not that late! Hence the reason why I refused to change our time when my FMIL suggested it!

we want it to be a fun party wedding.. not out of control, but lots of dancing and lots of fun.. We just went to a bat mitzvah that started at 8 pm, and we had a blast, people didn't wnat to leave.. all the old farts that want to leave, can LEAVE..

It's FINE! They're NOT 100 years old. You cna amybe give a map to some local places to go. Our ceremony is going to be late because we'll most likely have to wait until after sundown. No worries!

As a guest I would say that it is late. BUT it is a Saturday. If it were a Sunday I would suggest changing it but it not and most people won't have to work the next day so I think its fine.

and there is a bar there, so I was going to throw in a note, saying that the bar is there for guests who have some extra time. Maybe I'll do an open tab there while people wait???

Dont change it!!! Mine ends at 1 AM and my sisters already planned to pop vivarin. (no they are not old at all - people just suck)

Don't worry! I think 1am is FINE!! People do not have to worry about going to work the next day! I have 2 weddings this summer on Saturdays and both end at 1am. My Saturday night wedding is ending at midnight, and I am almost thinking....'is that too early?!'

Don't change it!! I'm actually looking for a hotel with a bar so that we can continue to party afterward with our OTG. Our's is over at 11:30.

nothing wrong with a late wedding on a saturday!

people will be having so much fun they won't realize that it's getting late!

our wedding started at noon......ceremony followed by cocktail hour and reception.....it was all over by 5:30...so we all went to the hotel for the after party and were partying there until almost midnight! no one complained! those that got tired left, and those that didn't stayed and had a great time!!!
