Westbury Manor Hotel Block

Hi,
Will be getting married at WM in Aug '05. Will be expecting lots of out of towners. NY bride, NJ groom.

Has anyone that had their reception at WM blocked rooms nearby? I am looking for any advice or tips you may have from your experience.

Preferably looking for something close by that isnt all that expensive. If possible I'd like to have the hotel set up a van at the end of the night so none of the guests staying over have to drive.

I just blocked the Wingate Inn on Stewart Avenue. They gave me the best price and they offered comlimentary breakfast and a shuttle van service.

Good to know. They are on my list to look at. Pretty close to WM from what I can tell. Not from LI, so I'm relying on Mapquest until I can get out there and drive over from WM.

How does the whole process work? You just have them set aside a certain # of rooms and your guests then call and actually reserve them right?

They are 2.5 miles from Westbury Manor. Get on the Meadowbrook, go 2 miles to Stewart Avenue Exit, go 1/2 mile to hotel.

They'll block X amount of rooms for you at a certain price. They'll hold those rooms (have them available) until 1-month before the wedding, then they will put them into their own pool to sell.

You owe them nothing money wise. Guests can call and tell them they are with 'Bride/Groom Party' and book at the special rate. If you book all the rooms in your block they will allow guests to book at that rate according to availability.

We also used Wingate! We had a wondeful experience with them. We worked with Jessica and she was very accomodating and always there when we needed her to make changes or just to answer a question.

We are using Wingate for our Wedding Hotel as well. My sister used them last year and they were great. So we are using them.

we used the LI Marriott in Uniondale. it was perfect!! only 5 minutes away, gorgeous hotel with a sports bar for after the reception. Everyone loved it!!! they dont have vans thought for shuttle service. i had to book my own.

I also used the Wingate and highly recommend them. They helped coordinate giving out my hotel bags and arranged for three shuttles for our guests to the reception and then back.

Hi - you are exactly like me and my DH= me from NY, him from NJ. We booked the Holiday Inn for our guest on Old Country Road and it ended up working fine - they recently renovated it last year and it's nicer inside. No complaints from my guests at all and they were nice to deal with when it came to room blocking and handing out guest bags.

I also booked a hotel close to my Church which is where most of the bridal party stayed about 20 minutes from the WM.

I am getting married at the Westbury Manor, and I found a great Hotel that is fairly close to the facility. The Inn at Plainview, which is going to be a Four Points by sheraton. The place looks great. All brand new. They even give a gift to all brides that mention that they saw them on LI weddings. How cool is that. Finnally a vendor who gives back to the birdes that respond
