FH wants this as Wedding song, I dont know??

I know you guys have all heard this song its on the radio all the time, its 'Here With Out You' by Three Doors Down. I love the song but it just doesnt seem like a wedding song I mean it says here with out you and he's not gonna be with me from now on wether he likes it or not J/K. It reminds him of the 2 years we were apart while he was in the military. What do you think?

I wouldn't think it is a wedding song- seems sad. But its really what matters to you guys!

A 'good' wedding song is one that means something to you and your relationship. I don't think all wedding songs have to be lovey-dovey to work.

If it is something he is really passionate about, I think you should use it. I think it's great that he is nostalgic and involved with the process of choosing things. Not all grooms have an opinion!

I love that song and I think its appropriate since he was in the military - obvioulsy faraway from you.

Why don't you have your first song something else that just the 2 of you dance to and can agree on, and have this as your 2nd song with everyone joining in.

It's a beautiful song, and the words definetly sound like the mean something... its up to you!

I love that song...and if it has special meaning to you than use it. On the other hand... The song talks about being separated from each other and although you were, this is your first dance as a couple who has just been united by marriage...it should be a song that celebrates that too.

i agree... of mine and fh's 3 songs that are special to us, 2 aren't exactly lovey-dovey (nightswimming by REM and windmills by toad the wet sprocket). i think any song that is sentimental to you, no matter what the words say, is fair game to use at the wedding.

usually a wedidng song is a song that means something to both of you .....like the firt dance together or just a song you hear when you are together

I was thinking the exact same thing. I think this is right on. We're doing almost exactly the same thing. :)

I think if it's really THAT important to him and it mean that much to him, it's SO sweet that for whatever reason he thinks of you when he hears the song. - you don't have to take it as a depressing 'i'm nowhere near you' type of theme. - He can be describing ANY time he's not w/ you ........you know ?? Is there a song that YOU really really had your heart set on ? if not, I say give him this one !
