The Lavender Bridal Studio?

Has anyone used them? Their prices are reasonable, but how are their pics?

I visited them. I liked their work and the prices werent bad its just that we felt they were a little too old fashioned for our taste. I say go and see for yourself though.

I used them. My pics came out beautiful. They are definitely a more traditional place. Some of my proofs are posted in my album, but they don't look great because I had a horrible scanner, but you can get an idea. I plan to rescan them when I get my proofs back, I had to hand them i n to get my album done!!

Fh and I visited when we were looking for a photographer. The owner is very nice, and his work VERY traditional (primarily posed, few candids). He uses medium format (no digital and 35 mm) and gives you a limited number of proofs (I think 100-200) for the entire day (however you can get more proofs for more money). He also keeps the negatives as well. We wanted something less traditional and preferred to go with a company that would give us our negatives.

I really want a mix of posed and candids shots. Anyone reasonable out there with good quality. We are getting married out doors in a garden...a lot of photo ops, but I want someone who has a good eye for light.

Lavender does give a limited # of proofs. We got 234 total, but trust me, it was more than enough. I still had a hard time picking 60 for an album, I can't imagine if I had 500 to go through. Also, you do get the negatives at the end. It is clearly stated in my contract that I get them. I would not have gone with them if they didn't come back to me!!

We did have a lot of posed shots, but the photograoher definitely got a lot of candids. If you do go with them, just tell the photographer you want a lot of candids.

Fh and I decided to go with 12th night. They are in Garden City Park on Jericho Turnpike.
the owner has packages where he shoots a combination of digtal and 35 mm, posed and photojournalistic. Pricing is great. FH and I are getting about 350 shots (35mm) and at least 300 shots digital. They also take all the digital pictures and arrange them on DVD photo slide show set to music. It's really cool. If you want more info, definitely FM me.
