Did anyone with a Fleet account have problems when they switched to bank of america?

JT has a loan with them that he makes monthly payments on. When he went to pay his loan today, they told him that he had to pay it in full becuase Bank of America is not honoring loans that Fleet gave. Doesn't that sound RIDICULOUS? They 'claimed' they sent a letter a year ago about this. I KNOW they did not. We don't know what to do. If we pay this loan off in full, we'll have no money left.

Did Bank of America take them over? Please help b/c my uncle is having trouble with his Direct deposit, he is on disability, no money going into his account, he called to tell me someone switched his account from Fleet to BOA...I said he was crazy and now you are the first person I have heard mention the link? PLEASE tell me what the deal is???

Yeah, BOA bought Fleet. We closed our accounts with Fleet as soon as we hear, but we still ahve this one loan. I'm so mad!

That doesn't sound right. FI works for Fleet. Let me call him, and I will FM you.

ETS: I called FI and these were his exact words: 'that's bs, they have no plans of changing the systems for now (meaning at least a year)'. He suggested that you speak to the manager or something. He said that sometimes tellers have no clue what they're talking about. Good luck.
