Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

I am holding rooms at The Bucuti - I love the way it looks adn the price fits right into our budget - BUT some people say 'oo the Hyatt--it's the best place to stay'
any pros and cons??
At The Hyatt, I don't feel like getting up at 6:30 to get one of those huts, but I may have to do that at The Bucuti too...it just seems more low-key and peaceful...

Re: Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

I didn't visit the Bucati so I can't comment other than to say that I heard from others that it was great. We stayed at the Radisson but went to the Hyatt at night for dinner and it is a gorgeous hotel with amazing restaurants. We didn't have a problem with the huts and got them as late as 11am, but perhaps that was b/c it was June - I did hear it's hard to get huts other times of the year. Also, the Hyatt doesn't have balconies in the rooms (I don't know if Bucati does either). The good thing about the Hyatt is that it is on the main hotel strip so you can visit other hotels at night by just walking.

Re: Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

I have been to Aruba twice and I stayed at the Hyatt once. I will give you the scoop. The hotel is beautiful. The room are no different than any room you will get at any thotel. The pool is amazingg. The beach is amazing, but so are the ones at the other hotels. The restaurants are nice, but we went into the city for better ones. All in all I would stay at the Radisonn.

Re: Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

My feeling is that I want to be out of the room all day--on the beach, snorkeling -doing stuff...as long as the rooms are clean and I can enjoy myself, I don't care if it's the fanciest...

Re: Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

I am totally torn between the Bucuti and the Divi All Inclusive. Did you see the web cams from the Bucuti website? I watch it all day. And on tripadvisor.com there are hardly any bad reviews for Bucuti. They have a meal plan too. I dont want a big hotel feel for my HM but you have to decide if you want peace and quiet or action.

Re: Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

We decided on the Bucuti and booked it for a few reasons. The first is that it was listed in the Fodor's book and on some travel websites as being a low-key place that caters to couples- it is supposedly a quieter place to stay. I also read in a few places that the beaches by the Bucuti are the prettiest and offer the greatest number of shady huts- important for my pale skin, LOL. We also looked at the Radisson and loved the zero entry pool and thought it was beautiful from the photos, and it got great reviews, but I really wanted to stay further away from the high-rise area and go there when we choose to. The one thing you might want to think about is that you will have to leave the Bucuti to do a lot of the water activities and stuff. I remember reading that if you are really into all of that stuff and want to do it every day, you might be better off staying in the high rise hotel area.

My brother stayed at the Tamarijn all-inclusive (like the Divi, I think) and he liked it, but his one comment was that the food was not that great. I also have a friend who stayed at the Windham and she said that it was also a really nice place. Hope this helps!

Re: Aruba Honeymooners...Bucuti vs. Hyatt

I am still deciding what to do b/c now my travel agent can get me in the Radisson for a terrific price--so I am thinking maybe I want to be there -- I am def. into doing some water stuff and won't be renting a car, so being up there could be good...
