Do the girls pay?

Do the bridesmaids normally pay to get their own hair and makeup done, or do I pay???? I just don't want to assume anything!

The girls are paying in my wedding. I am paying for me. They are paying for themselves. They have the option of having hair/makeup done or not.
The ones who want it will pay for themselves.

Generally the girls pay for themselves. If you know some can't afford it or even if they can, you can incorporate it in your bridesmaid gift. Give them a gift certificate to the beauty place, or nail place.

Has anyone ever heard that its proper for the bride to pay for the bridesmaids shoes?

I have heard that Jenny....some long time ago tradition I think. I have been in a number of weddings and my shoes have not been paid for by the bride but I do remember some of them taking our shoes to have them all died together and that I think had to be paid for by the bride.

and I mean dyed...not died!! LOL...and I even had the spell checker check the spelling!! I needed my grammar checked!! LOL...must be time to go home!
