Is this okay or tacky.... it is only a STD not an invite

if it was an invite i would be mortified!!!!!

I dunno Jill..I dont have the best handwriting...i was gonna ask my MIL who knows how to do calligraphy to do it but not necessarily calligraphy...just with a nice neat thick black marker

I'm sure it would be a fine personal touch, but I wouldn't do it.

if you have really nice handwriting then i guess its not too bad, but even though its not the invite, for most its the first impression people will be getting of your wedding. I plan on just slipping them through the printer, using a nice font and saving $$ that way. I wouldnt do it, but then again i write like a 12 year old boy

we ran ours through the printer, i think anything goes as long as it looks nice and neat!

If you are worried-- and have access to a printer.. get Avery clear address labels and print them on those.. The lables prob cost under 10 bucks for a package.

I'll probably do something like that..

I handwrote all mine. My handwriting isn't bad but not caligrapher good either.

I just got a wedding invite with the address hand written with a purple sharpie!!!!! How tacky is that??

I think it's fine if you have nice handwriting. If you're having second thoughts, run the envelopes through the printer.

you're all kidding!!

all the books say it is LEAST tacky to handwrite outer envelopes...it's most tacky to put labels on the envelopes and printing directly on to the envelope falls somewhere in between on the tacki-ness scale...

by the way...the inner envelope (of a wedding invite) should ALWAYS be handwritten...

I think it's fine for STD's although it may be easier to run them through the printer. It depend son your handwriting, but I thin either way is fine, STD's are generally informal.

For wedding invites, I think labels are totally gross. I don't see how a computer is really tacky. Not everone cna afford hand calligraphy
