Need Work Bridal shower Idea--Diffucult situation

I need help. One of our physical therapists is getting married at the end of August. The whole department was invited to her wedding, but not everyone is going. After she gets married she will not be returning to work, and she is moving to Utah.

Question....what do we do for her? I want to have a good-bye/bridal shower for her. She is not taking anything to Utah except cloths and her important documents. Do we give her money?? (I'm going to the wedding and giving her money) or do I give her a gift certificate and research stores in Utah. Help!

I think a shower/goodbye party (maye call it a goodbye shower) where you all chip in a buy her a gift certificate to a store like Crate and Barrel or Williams-Sonoma would be nice - just make sure there is one near her new town.

you could always give an american express gift check. i think they can be used anywhere.

My job gave me CA$H at my shower and I thought it was great (they said it was for Vegas!). We also just gave a guy at my office cake & a wad of cash. I don't see anything wrong with it and actaully really appreciated it.

We usually give gift certificates at my office parties for weddings, babies, etc.

Definitely an Amex Traveler's check. Its as good as cash, without worrying about carrying it.

I alway prefer to give American Express checks. They can use towards the move or a honeymoon.
