just try to focus on how much you're saving because she's paying for part of it....not how much you're spending

I understand how you feel and I agree with Palebride -- try to focus on the fact that you don't have to pay X amount of dollars for your gown instead. It will all work out in the end, and you'll have a beautiful gown to walk down the aisle in, so try not to let it stress you too much!

my parents are exactly the same way...can you believe that they offered to loan us the 3,ooo payment thats sure in sept for our hall?????

nlot pay it but loan it and she was all serious aboutworking out a payment plan and everything....i so have no told them that my in laws offered to pay at least 1/2 if not all of our wedding costs- i think my parents wouldnt talk to me anymore cause they think we should pay for it ourselves and if what we want is too expensive ----oh well!

I hate their attitudes toward money

so just take what your mom says with a grain of salt and a huge shot of tequila!!!!

I know how you feel my mother really isn't into this whole wedding thing. The $$ she gave me towards the dress was only enugh to cover the tax

I mean what can I do, I'm not about to start an argument, b/c believe me my mother is not a calm person. So its either I argue with her and become even more stressed or shut my mouth and not say a word, which im doing.

Hey ladies, thanks for responding.

It's just disappointing that this is her ONLY daughter's wedding, and she's thinking more about her pocket than making it easier for her (not $, but just in general).

Do you have the kind of relationship that you can tell her all that?

I think you need to find out why the sudden change from her so and i think if you ask her honestly without getting heated, you might be able to work it out
