Gals who take/took Clomid, I need you!
Just came from Gyno and just like I though there seems to be some problems with ovulation. My peroids were always irregular, ever since i was in my teens and my dr thinks I will probably need clomid. I had 3 tubes of blood drawn today and need to have another, fasting blood test this week.
We know that I do ovulate, some of my cycles are 34 days and very normal, but some are 39 days and avery short or otherwise abnormal. I have to come back next week when the blood test resulsts will come back. She said it has no long term sideaffects and a lot of women do need it. Also, she mentioned that if it does work, the conception occures within 6 months.
I know that some of you ladies are going through the same thing right now and I would love to hear from you. I know nothing about this Clomid thing except for a the few things that my Dr told me. How is it taken? Injected or like a pill? how long were you on it before you concieved and what were the short term sideeffect? anything you are willling to share I would love to read!
Thank you so much to you all!

I am taking it. Im on my third month of it. I had no side effects. I was having irregular periods, and found out Im produsing too much estrogen and not enough progesterine. It is a pill. You take it on the 5th day of bleeding. There are 5 pills you take, one each day. Then on the 12th, 14th, and 16th you have intercourse. Those are your most fertile days. Sending you lots of baby dust.

Re: Gals who take/took Clomid, I need you!
I'm on my fourth month with Clomid and IUI. I have had no side effects at all.
It is a pill and depending on what dosage your prescribed thats how many pills you take....such as I take 200 dose so I need 4 pills (each pill is 50). It is usually for a 5 day timeperiod. My doctor told me take right before I go to bed and I haven't had a problem so far.
Good luck!!!

Re: Gals who take/took Clomid, I need you!
I will actually start my first Cycle of Clomid Tomorrow, so I really do not have much info for you, except that it is a pill and you take it day 5-9 of your period, what clomid does is realizes more eggs so that there is a better chance of conception (which also gives you a greater chance of multiple births).
Also most people will take it for 3 cycles (each month the dose usually goes up) if conception has not occured by then, back to the dr for there reccomendations.
I was not Told what time to take it at, i think I may call my dr. office today, to check it out.
Also I did buy the clearblue easy monitor for a backup, with the clomid you are supposed to have timed intercourse day 13, 15, and 17 so with the ovulation kit, it can help guide you, especially if you are irregular!
Best of Luck to you!!!
PS on my prescription bottle the only side effect listed is may experience Dizziness!

Anya, my girlfriend took Clomid and it took her a year to conceive... but she's pregnant now and is due in Feb. She's very healthy and baby is growing fast. She said the only side effect it had was it made her feel like a "dog in heat" someday I'm sure you're DH won't mind! Best of luck to you
