Re: What do I wear.. Black Tie Optional
If it were me I would wear a gown! But I love to wear gowns so every chance I get I wear one!But if you don't feel comfy a black dress with nice jewelry always works also!!
ETS: If FH doesn't want to rent. I would suggest a black suit!

Re: What do I wear.. Black Tie Optional
You can get away with a cocktail dress or fancier. Your FH should wear a dark suit, he shouldn't feel the need to rent a tux.

So you guys think a dark suit is ok for him? I don't mind getting a gown (it is a saturday night) however I hate to have him look 'underdressed'.We are thinking of buying a tux for the wedding rather than rent one, and then he could wear it again..but then.... would he be OVERLY dressed if he wore his wedding tux?????

Re: What do I wear.. Black Tie Optional
neither my man or i would want him in a tux for black tie optional...he looks way more dapper and handsome in his dark armani suit with a nice tie. (go woodbury commoins!) At tux is too penguin-ey for both of us...but if he likes to wear one, and feels good in it, go for it!
I would wear a gown, and I don't think he would at all underdressed next to you in one.
