SandCastle Brides or anyone throwing a party at the SandCastle- am I being ripped off?
Yesterday, I went to go drop off my first deposit at the SandCastle. George, the banquet manager,(also the one I booked my e-party and made the contract with), wasn't there. So, I had to go and speak with Jimmy. I had a few more questions to ask. I asked him whether they decorate the dais upstairs in the skylight room (whether they put that white attachable cloth in front). He told me they didn't do that because there is no velcro to attach it with. I then asked him whether the waiters do a march down the dance floor and then pour the chamange in the glasses and he said no, that's not included in the package. But, when I got home I noticed that in the brochures of the SandCastle, they have a white attachable cloth in front of the dais in the skylight room. I later asked my mother about that march that the waiters do and she told me that should be included and that shouldn't be extra. Further, I wanted to also confirm w/ him whether the price my fiancee and I are paying per plate included the tax & gratuity. He said yes, but that it excluded tips for the two maitre D' present that night.
Now, I want to tell you guys what I'm getting from SandCastle:
-Chair Cover (SC threw it in)
-Ice Sculpture (I think SC threw it in or I'm just paying for it w/o even knowing it).
Ohhhh, when I asked Jimmy about this and whether we have an option the kind we want, he said no. It's a standard ice sculpture w/ two birds and a heart.
-If you have a copy of the Menu, it's the Cocktail Hour, (sit-down dinner) Salad, Pasta, Main Course, coffee, tea, etc. and any type of cake we want.
-Second Servings
-Wine on the table
-Open Bar
-Full Viennese Table
Now what my fiancee and I are paying for this package is xx pp complete in the month of May for a Sat. night (includes tax & gratuity). Is this expensive? (I will FM you the price). When I left the SandCastle yesterday I wasn't to happy w/ the way Jimmy handled my questions. I just felt like he was rushing me w/ my questions and that he was withholding info.
If it is not to personal can you post or FM me the price you are paying or just give me a range. I know depending on the month will determine how much or less you pay, but do you think this is a reasonable price?
Also, I forgot to ask yesterday, but maybe you guys can help- do you know how they adjust the price you pay when it comes to children? When I spoke to George, (if I can recall correctly), he said that children under 10 eat half price and that children under 5 eat for free.
Lastly, do you know if they place candles on the tables or do you have to go and buy them?
Thanks everyone for listening. I'm not sure whether I'm just paranoid. My god, and this is just an e-party...can you imagine planning a wedding...Forget it.
Any info that you can give would be extremely helpful.

But I am getting other things like the vienesse hour and the bigger room downstairs.I agree some of the people there are rude its very strange... thank goodness the 2 people I have had to deal with have been really really great so far!
