Wedding Halls
I am in the process of visiting Halls for my May 2006 Wedding. I've seen a few but I wanted to get a feeling from all of you on the various LI wedding halls. So far, I really like Swan Club, but it seems as though the 100 person room will be very cramped. Has anyone booked there or been there? Also, any other suggestions for an outdoor ceremony / indoor reception for 100 people? So far, I've seen Swan Club, Woodbury Country Club, Riviera at Massapequa, Douglaston Manor. Thanks for your help!

Re: Wedding Halls
I looked at the Swan Club but didn't chose it because they couldn't guarantee me the outside chapel until 6 months before my wedding. I originally wanted the smaller room and I need to have everything in one place. I also have a lot of out of town guests and I think they would have a difficult time finding it.So it was between Westbury Manor and Watermill but Westbury would have been all upstairs... no elevator and my Dad is disabled from a stroke so therefore, it became the Watermill. No one's fault really but I had some specific and necessary requirements between my preferences and my Dad's status.

Re: Wedding Halls
If your looking in Suffolk, I can recommend the Meadow Club (which I am using), Majestic Gardens (too big for what I needed) and alot of brides here are using Inne at East Wind (never been there). Hope this helps.

Re: Wedding Halls
How was your food at Leonards? I've heard some people complain that the food wasn't good. But it could have just been the menu the chose?

Re: Wedding Halls
I am having an outdoor ceremony at East Wind. It comes fully decorated and is beautiful. They have two, one for the Inn and one for the Estate.

Did you try the Woodlands in Woodbury ask for Maureen I went with a friend who is getting married there next year and the woman who helped us was fabulous I wish she was in charge of my wedding. The place is also beautiful it is on a golf course and the back outdoor area is amazing. The woman Maureen was giving my friend so many wonderful ideas. It is a must see on your list.

Re: Wedding Halls
Look at the Stewart Manor Country Club (www.stweartmanor.com) They have a gazebo for the ceremony and pictures. Our October reception was there and we LOVED IT!!!
We had to guarantee 100. Ended up having 220, so it holds large crowds as well. The food is amazing, excellent customer service; only 1 wedding at a time, so you get the personal touch.
Good luck

Also, East Wind has the Country Gardens...it depends on how many people you are having. All of the East Wind facilities are beautiful!

HI i just booked at the swan club and I will be having about 80-100 quest. The ceremony will be in the pavillon which looks like it is outside but is inside which is safe if it rains. If you are have about 100- quests, the contessa room will be more than enough for u. If u want anymore info please FM me

Re: Wedding Halls
My original guest list was between 60-70 people... they were only offering me the room next to the bar... really the restaurant. Well, the guest list is now 100... one couple from Canada, and several people from California so many probably won't come. It's my FH's second wedding and I never wanted a big wedding... at our age so many people have fallen by the wayside and our parents (my mom is deceased and my Dad has been disabled from a stroke and retired for 7 years) have a good perspective on it. I never wanted a wedding with over 100... my opinion is if I haven't seen you in person in the last year, maybe two, then we aren't that close. I also don't have a bridal party... only BM and MOH.It was difficult to find a place with that size guest list so that is why we have the Astor Room at the Watermill on Monday July 4th. Being 34 (tick, tick, tick...
) and a teacher and my FH 36... I was not going to be engaged for over a year and I had to get married during the summer. It also didn't make sense for us to compete with the Friday, Saturday or Sunday night crowd as we are not getting married in a church as we are interfaith and the best places are all booked up over a year in advance anyway by people who are engaged for a longer period of time. So we are getting married at 11 am on Monday, July 4th... to me it's the same thing as a Saturday or Sunday. The out of town guest would have had to take Tuesday off anyway. I got a great place and I am paying much, much, much less than they charge on one of the peak times that same weekend. Regardless we do have a minimum of 100 but our per plate cost is so low we are still saving money even if we only have 80 or 90.

Re: Wedding Halls
Larkfield Manor has a smaller banquet room. The food is amazing. Of course I'm a little biased bc I had my reception there, but people are still calling us to tell us how good the food and service was.FM if you have questions.
