My Beautiful day 8/7/04 wedding review with pics very long**LINK TO PICS FROM DUET

Hey Gals,

Well I am back from my honeymoon and waned to give my reviews. First of all THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for all of your help. You ladies have been invaluable. Especially since planning the wedding from so far away, it has helped so much being able to utilize LI Weddings. I had a GREAT DAY, but as every bride mentions there are a few glitches that happen. The day was wonderful and DEFANITLEY WENT BY TOO QUICKLY..
I spent TONS of time planning this wedding and researching so I feel it is fair to all the ladies planning there weddings that I give my review honestly. I got 99% of my wedding.


Let me start with:
Mother Nature: A+
I couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Makeup: Jacqueline Nicole –A+
What can I say that hasn’t already been said? She is a doll to work with. She really cares about the final product. She did my makeup and the bridesmaids. Again, everyone came out looking amazing. I wish she lived in LA I would hire out here to do my makeup…LOL

Dress: Local dress shop in LA. I LOVED LOVED LOVED MY DRESS. I wish I could wear it everywhere. I also got my tiara there it came with a veil, however, I later decided I wanted a different kind and got one from eBay that I loved and wore the day of.

Hair: Fran at Andre’s.—A+
Fran was great. So was the staff at Andres located in Smithhaven Mall. We had 8 girls who needed to get their hair done. Everyone looked amazing.
Fran did my hair. She did EXACLTY what I wanted. I highly recommend her.


Florist: Jack and Rose- A
Jack was easy to work with. He really gave us a great deal and even threw in a few extras. Flowers weren’t a big part of my budget so I had to be creative going with Jack I was able to have beautiful flowers for my wedding. We only had the personal flowers done by him and the bouquets were lovely. I wanted mine shaped like a heart (being that was my theme). We couldn’t believe how heavy it was. The delivery even came early. He went out of his way with helping stick to my budget.


Officiant: Pastor Mike—A+
Pastor Mike was Awesome. He was so easy and wonderful to work with. VERY ACCOMADATING. I told him from the get go that the ceremony was the most important part of the day to both Dave and myself and he understood that and made sure it was really special. We were able to get married at the Nesconset Christian Church. He is the Pastor there. Beautiful place. Pastor Mike along with his family did a wonderful job of making sure everything was taking care of. If you are looking for an officiant look no further. He was wonderful. I was so worried about Dave crying during his vows and he did such a great job he held it together. I on the other hand was a crying baby…LOL I just pray that nothing was dripping from my nose on the video…LOL

The church also has a screen that slides down and Pastor Mike let us use it and we showed pictures of when Dave and I were babies through us dating. It was a big hit with Kim the organist playing during the presentation. I didn’t want to walk down the aisle to the traditional music so instead I walked down to “A song for my daughter” by Mikki Verick along with my Mom who walked me down and everyone was crying. Pastor Mike made sure I was able to have that song played. He is just great. I could go on and on about him. He really cares about people and what he does. He’s the best.

Limo: Sir Oliver Limo:--A-
We only had one 10 pass limo. It seemed a little small but hey we made it work. The company itself was really easy to work with. I would recommend them again. They were there on time, clean limo.



DJ: High Voltage Sounds: Vinny— A+/B-
I have two ratings. The first one is for pre-wedding. Vinny was great to deal with. I asked him to send me a copy of the song “A song for my daughter” and he did. When I first booked him we talked for almost 1 ½ and I felt really at ease booking him without even meeting him. He was also recommend.

Wedding: I gave a B- because there were some issues that arose, mostly with his assistant who acted completely inappropriately. Regardless, we did dance and have a great time.


Sunset Harbour: A
I really liked it there. Andy and Christine are very easy to work with. Gina was our BM. She is on the ball trying to make everything run smoothly. I think they were short staffed that night b/c the poor girl was running around a lot. Our bridal attendant was named Jill and unfortunately we only saw her twice during the night. I wish we would have had someone who was more attentive. My niece ended up getting me drinks most of the night….LOL Oh well little things. The food was great, the little that we ate. I was a little bothered the next day when I realized we not only didn’t get sent home with any food, we never ate our wedding cake EXCEPT when we were feeding it to each other. Luckily, Gina made sure the first layer was sent home with us and we were able to have that. IT WAS GOOD. They did a great job of arranging the tables like I had asked. And if you have your wedding there make sure to definitely rent the chair covers. They made a really nice difference in the room. Great place, Great price.

Photo & Video: Duet: Eric for Video, Albert and Wu and I am not sure of the other gentlemen’s name, for photography. WEDDING: A+ PROOFS:? I will post my review when I see them.

Everyone is still talking about them. From the very beginning they were WONDERFUL to work with. You can tell they really care about the client and that they love what they do. I can’t wait to see everything because I know it will be great. The day of the wedding I had Eric, Wu, and another Gentleman show up where I was getting ready. I ENDED UP HAVING 3 PHOTOGRAPHERS and Eric doing the video. I was so surprised. They were dressed in black and just melted into the background. They were taking pictures all the time—WHICH I LOVED…LOL What they did which I have to thank them for, is they really kept us on schedule. If it had not been for them moving us along I would have went into overtime with the limo and missed a good portion of the CH but I didn’t thanks to them. I have to say when I turned the corner to walk down the aisle with my mom it was like we were superstars and the paparazzi were taking our pictures. They always seemed to be right where the action was, while the entire time not being obtrusive. They really were great the day of. Everyone keeps telling that they can’t wait to have a function so they can hire them for it. I think someone even got a picture of all them eating dinner…LOL. I will update my review when I get the proofs back but I bet it will be the same review.

I saved the best for Last:

My new husband: A+++++
HE IS SO WONDERFUL. I am so lucky to have found the man of my dreams and I get to spend the rest of my life with him. I am so blessed. The day of the wedding he got me this BEAUTIFUL card and this GORGEOUS diamond cross necklace--that I wear everyday now. I had been wanting a diamond cross for a while but didn't find one I liked. The one Dave got me is sooo pretty and I am so happy I got to wear it on my wedding day to be blessed along with us.

My Mother: A+++++
Without her none of this would have been possible. She worked so hard on the wedding. There aren't enough words to thank her for what she has done for me--not just for the wedding but also for my entire life. I am really am one blessed lady. Instead of doing the boquet toss I dedicated my boquet to my Mom. It was the only suprise to her the entire night--she thought I was doing the anniversary dance...LOL She loved it.
She also helped me to add my little creative touches to the wedding. Instead of table numbers we had table names along with a picture of dave and I and want that word meant to us. For example my favorite was patience. I wrote how patient dave is with me and how he balances me and all this other stuff...Dave wrote (which I love) patience is going to walmart with Robyn...LOL.. I included a picture but it is hard to makeout.

Our honeymoon was WONDERFUL. We flew back to LA and rented a convertable and drove along the coast--WHAT AN AMAZING DRIVE. I will post pics of that to at some point. We stayed at all different bed and breakfasts along the way Our final destination was San Fransisco--it was a blast.
Dave planned the entire honeymoon and it was absolutely PERFECT.

We also used DUET and had a wonderful experience with them.. i cannot wait for our proofs, and I'm sure you cannot either
