Any more votes? POLL: Would you rather have a big surprise party or a really expensive gift?
I'm trying to decide whether I should throw DH a suprise party for his 30th B-Day (it's over a year away) or to just buy him a nice gift (I know that he'd LOVE a nice new watch)I don't know...maybe I should just keep saving and put the $ into our 'house' account.
Since I have so much time to plan it (over a year) I know that I can save a little at a time without him noticing that the $ is gone...hehehe

my husband gave me a suprise 30th b-day party. I had so much fun and will always remember it. Plus everyone bought gifts, so I got the best of both worlds.

I remeber the one surprise birthday aprty my best friend gave me a few years back more than almost any gift I've gotten. You cna always get him a nice gift, but he only has one 30th. I'd go for the party!ETA: I gave my FH a surprise party, at a PIZZA place (so, inexpensive) and he loved it. And instead of just one gift form me, he has gifts frm all of his firneds, lots of memories and photos to remember the day!

I threw my husband a surprise 30th birthday party 2 years ago and he's still talking about it. He LOVED it. He loved the time and thought that went into it, he loved his friends that all showed up, etc. In my opinion, you can buy each other expensive gifts all your lives, but you only turn 30 once!ETA - and it doesn't have to be expensive - I had mine in our apartment, you can cater sandwiches and pizzas, etc. The major item I think is the cost of alcohol.
