Ideas for the Reception

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a place for the reception. I have appointments to see oheka castle and Carltun on the Park. These are the only ones that stand out in my mind as being the best, Please if you have any other suggestions...price is not an issue either. Thank you very much

Re: Ideas for the Reception

Those are beautiful places. If you like the idea of a beach wedding you can look into our hall, The Crescent Beach Club. Also, if you're not opposed to traveling, what about Tappan Hill or The Castle in Tarrytown. You can also look into Botanical Gardens.

Re: Ideas for the Reception

I defiantely want to keep it in Nassau County just for the benefits of my guests. I like the idea that Oheka has rooms available. Food wise i would say i want it very eclectic. As thats the taste that I have. Foie Gras, Caviar, Oysters, Sushi, I love all seafood and I dont want guests to have the usual choices of chicken beef or fish. I was thinking of lobster tails and filet mignon, and myabe long island Duck, and possibly a variety of fish such as salmon wellington, ive had that at a restaurant once and it was amazing. Also have some some other fish on the menu as well. Since i want to stay on long island and in Nassau County i guess i have limited myself to where i can have the reception,

What town was cresent beach club at?

Re: Ideas for the Reception

I am getting married at The Carltun.

Other places that we looked at in LI were Carlyle, Harrision House, Rosyln Claremont.. and we didn't look at Garden City Hotel cause one of my BM's got married there.

I think that's it.. we did not look at a ton of places... we also did a few in the city.

The Crescent is in Bayville and they have all of the food you mentioned. Some of it is avaliable as an upgrade, like the caviar or sushi, but they do have it available. You should look into it, they only do one wedding at a time and the beach setting is awesome.

The Metropolitan in Glen Cove seems to offer the menu you are looking for . . . their courses are plated as if it were a restaurant as opposed to a catered or banquet event. I have LI Duck and filet mignon, beef wellington, salmon, talapia, etc., to choose from for my guests.

How many guests are you expecting to invite?
