I Had My Baby!!! Birth Story..

I had my baby on Sept. 10 at 1:12am - I was 37 1/2 weeks. Nicholas Joseph is perfect - 6 lbs, 13 oz. I went to my regular dr. appt. on Thursday - I was 4 centimeters dialated and the dr. stripped my membranes. My water broke while she was doing it, so I had to go right to the hospital. I was not expecting that to happen, and started to freak out a little...the contractions started up immediately and they hurt! When I got into my room at the hospital, they were about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes apart. I got an epidural right away (best thing I ever did in my life!!!), and the contractions slowed down a bit, but not too much. Got some pitosin and was ready to push at a little before 1:00 am (I broke my water at about 4:30). I only pushed for about 20-25 minutes, and felt no pain.
I have to say that I was pleasantly suprised at how enjoyable the delivery was. It was pretty easy, and I did not have too much discomfort afterwards either. The first couple of days were pretty rough emotionally - especially Sat. and Sunday. I came home from the hospital on Sat. evening. I started off breastfeeding right after he was born in the hospital, but unfortunately it is just not for me. I am just not cut out for it, and I now have a new admiration for those women who are able to stick it out. I have never felt so out of control of my emotions before - I could not stop crying for 2 days! We started on formula last night, and I am a million times happier and less stressed out. It is amazing to actually think that this baby was inside of me - I can't stop looking at him and I am so in love! It is hard - harder than I expected, but so worth it.

Thats a great story. Im glad you had such an easy labor!! Being he was almost 7lbs imagine going full term?

Congrats! I also went about 37-1/2 weeks and my boy was almost 10 lbs.!! Thankfully you had an easy labor!
