Spinoff from holly's post: Did you ever have a chance to get back together with a former love?

About 5 years ago my high school BF and I saw each other at a mutual friend's wedding. WE were both in town, so he asked me to lunch the next day. We went out and he told me that he was considering moving to NY, and that if he did it would basically be for me. I was really shocked, because although we had kind of kept in touch, we were no longer close.

I told him I had to think about it. When I did, I realized that I was in a totally different place now and, it wasn't that I didn't have feelings for him, it was just that the feelings weren't the same. I didn't think it was a good idea for us to get back together.

It was kind of sad, but I know I definitely made the right decision.
