girls with heavy gowns-help!

I saw a post on the 05 brides board about dresses being 'too heavy'--I just realized that my dress is going to weigh a ton! I have a very long train that is not detachable. Do you think it will be very difficult to carry all day? Or am I freaking out over nothing? My friend got married a few years ago (granted she's very very small) and she had bruises on her shoulders and waist from the weight of her dress.

I really hate heavy gowns to honest with u but try to get a bustle to help with the carrying. I really like it when they can detach or chapel trains

Re: girls with heavy gowns-help!

Does the dress have a hoop--that adds a tremendous amount of weight as does heavy beading. Most modern styles can be done with less boning and weight and are more comfortable. If you are really concerned, talk to your seamstress -- she can address this with your bustle and how the weight is distributed.
