SCRAPPING WEDDING PLANS - Need info on Brentwood Country Club & other all inclusive wedding packages (photo/video, DJ, limos, flowers, invites, cake)
Hi ladies,
After looking at a lot of halls and then running the numbers, we nearly decided to just elope.
As a lot of you know, I almost booked Jericho Terrace but the expense of it all and some posts on the newlywed board stopped me in my tracks. We agreed to scrap the initial wedding plans but I realized that I really do want a wedding. I just can't bring myself to elope or to spend $20K - $25K.
So, my proposed solution is an all inclusive wedding package. Now my task is to get all the info for any such halls in the area.
Can anyone tell me more about Brentwood Country Club??? I know it's in Suffolk and we had previously limited ourselves to Nassau County since we live in Brooklyn. But I am one to travel for a good deal.
I know Brentwood has a package for $8995 + 18% (ETA: 15%) service charge (for off season) for 100 guests including photo/video, all flowers, DJ, limos, invites, cocktail hour & reception.
I understand that BCC credits like $700 - $1,000 if there photo/video is not used but that is definitely not enough to use anyone else - OR IS IT? Any photo/video packages for $1,000 - $1,500?

actually the photo guy (HILITE STUDIOS)
is really good I have seen his work before
i even went to see him to book for my wedding
there are quite a few places that have all inclusive pkges

The package at BCC is $8995.00 for 100 people plus 15% service and sales tax. although the price is mainly for off-season such as Jan, Feb, Dec. You can also find a date or so throughout the year for that price. I.E. Sundays
And I also know that if you don't use one of their vendors they give you credit.

doesnt ariana waterfall have all inclusive packages as well and there in nassau closer to brooklyn.

Douglaston Manor has an all inclusive package too.
I dont understand - are you eloping or not!?!?! You are so lucky to have sat down and thought this through either way. I wish I did!

My sis got married there in Dec. '00, and it was wonderful. FM me if you want anymore details. The DJ they had was great. I wonder if the place still uses them.

You ladies are AWESOME!!!!
FI is fine with eloping in Hawaii but I just can't do it. I would not feel right if my family is not there - at least mom, dad, sis, bro, grandma, best friend of 25 years and 2 favorite uncles. One uncle does not fly and my mom says Hawaii is expensive and a 13 hour flight with a layover (from Virginia) so she is not feeling that idea either.
I had Mexico in mind (Royal Hideaway) but again (uncle that does not fly - military thing from Vietnam I think) and FI's brother complained so much about the price and travel involved that FI gave in. We priced it at $1500 pp for Royal Hideaway - which we absolutely loved when we visited this year (my second trip to the resort).
FI did not like Ariana Waterfall (on the web site since we did not visit). I will try to get him to at least visit the place as well as Brentwood Country Club, Med Manor, Douglaston Manor and Holbrook Country Club. From what I gather, they all have all inclusive packages for about $10,000 for 100 people.

I believe the Holiday Inn in Plainview also has an all-inclusive package. That's Nassau so that's closer to you.

My parents' friends' son got married at BCC in January '00 or '01 (I don't recall which). They did the all-inclusive package so they didn't have to spend time worrying about details.
My parents said it was nice -- not fancy, but they didn't have anything negative to say about it.
I'm so proud of you for being real about finances! If my FH and I didn't have such large families, I'd consider a package, too. It kills me that this one day (albiet a special day) will cost more than my car.

Oh my God! Is this place is a bad neighborhood? I'm not concerned since I have lived in Brooklyn long enough to handle most situaitons but my family will be traveling from VA and they are not used to NY at all.
Should I be worried?

Glad there is nothing negative about BCC.
FI keeps saying it's "our day" but I am more about the expense of it all.
I am just as sentimental as the next woman (I hope LOL) but I do not see it as "our day" to blow $20K+. I want to be surrounded by family and friends but not to the tune of $20K or even $15K if I can help it.
I can relate about the car. FI bought a nice one for what I think is a ridiculous price to get from point A to point B but he is really into cars (FFIL was a mechanic and FI helped in the shop a lot and went to school to learn to fix cars in a former life). I cna't imagine spending that kind of $$ on a car - or a wedding. LOL

Overall, Brentwood's not great. The drive from the Sagtikos to BCC should be fine, though. It's definitely worth it to see it for yourself.

Not that I'm trying to get rid of you, but would you consider getting maried in Virginia, since that's where your family is? It would probably save you $, from what you've mentioned in the past.
Also, Rainmama scrapped her original NY wedding plans & is getting married at a resort upstate.
She is getting married this weekend, so she might be a little busy, but maybe you could so a search or ask her when she gets back.
Somethinglike that might not be bada idea. A coworker of mine got married at a winery upstate & that was lovely. Not sure about $ though, but I am pretty sure it was less than a winery here, b/c he tried that first.

Yep, checked that out first. The one place I would do it in VA (that no family or friend used) is The Chrsyler Museum. The rental fee is about $3,000 and I would have to use Cuisine and Company caterers. I called the caterer and talked about menu's and pricing - linen rental, flatware and china rental is an extra $10pp. All in all it came out to $55pp plus the site fee. So it is still is the same range as NY. I was shocked!!!! And that is not including open bar. The caterer suggested we bring out own liquor and they would supply bartenders - for a fee.
I also checked another place - Norfolk Botanical Garden. A cousin was married there but I was willing to overlook that since I did not attend that wedding. Ceremony fee is $600 ($500 at the hall in NY) for the garden and the site fee for the reception hall is $3500 for October - the date we want is 10/10/05. Tack on catering for 150 people as well as flowers, photo, video, DJ, limo & tips and it's just as expensive as NY. I thought it would be cheaper too but I was wrong.
