Fitting tonight and I've got QUESTIONS!!!

Hi girls!!

The day has finally come where I get to go for my fitting. First off I wanted to ask you if I need to take EVERYTHING. I know I'm taking my undergarments, stocking and shoes.....

....now, do I have to take my veil and headpiece. Does the seemstress need it for the fitting because if not, I wasn't going to take it.

Do I have to ask specific questions? Do they do the bustle there or for your 2nd fitting.

I didn't take everything for my first fitting. I just took my undergarments and shoes. For my next fitting I will take everything to see how it all looks and make tiny tweaks then. For my second fitting they did my bustle and some minor tweaks.

I took everything including jewelry AND I did a hair trial that day so I could get an idea of how the whole package was going to look. I hadn't tried my veil and tiara with my actual gown yet though so I was really anxious to make sure it all worked together.

But no, technically, you don't need to bring everything. Just your undergarments and shoes and slip.

They don't typically do the bustle at the first fitting.

My mother doesn't know how to bring up the pics from our computer, the only one that knows is my dad and I don't want him seeing my dress......I want it to be a surprise

I just had mine and brought the shoes, the bra and the veil. I wanted to see where the veil hit my back, so that if I didn't like it, I could shop for one (I am borrowing mine). I was glad I did b/c one of the women in the shop suggested a different look for my hair that will probably look better with the veil.

The seamstress measured me for the bustle on the first fitting, but the dress fit pretty well and she doesn't have to do major alterations on it. I would think if you need major alterations, it might be hard for her to see exactly where to place the bustle and she might want to do that at a later fitting.

Just edited to say- I have a crinoline built in, so I am not planning on wearing a slip, but I think if you are you should bring that, b/c the seamstress was asking me about it.

I'm so excited for you! You are going to have such a great time!!! I brought my undergarments (although none of them are working out for me - long story), stockings, shoes and jewelry. I don't have my veil yet, but I'll probably bring it to the next fitting.

For my 2nd fitting I had a hair and m/u trial before so my hairpins where in as well.

I only brought my headpeice & veil to the second fitting, to see how it all looked, but I wasn't going to buy anyone at this point anyway.
It may be hard to get an ideaof how it all looks with the veil at the first fitting if the dress still needs a lot of work.

The did my bustle at the 1st fitting & showed my mom how to attach it at my2nd fitting.There a few little things to change,so I have to go back for my 3rd fitting, but I probably won't bring my veil & head piece then.
