Good luck to all the brides today with this rain.

I woke up to find water POURING into my basement. We have an OSE and the water was coming from under the door. I went outside to see if the drain was clogged and there was water up to my knees But the drain was not clogged. So then I took a garbage can and filled it 8 times with water and carried it up the steps... OMG I almost died. Then I took a small bucket and did this until the water level was below the door. I came in and I was soaked though all of my clothes and sooooo tired. That is the most physical activity I had in a while! Of course my brother and my FH were no where to be found! Then I got to sop up water with towels with my mom until my grandfather came over with the wet vac. FUN!
Imagine this happened on your wedding day I hope all you brides are OK today!

I came into school this morning and just thought of all of the girls today. My class just let out and it stopped raining!!!
Yayyyyy!!! To the 9/18 brides....I will be sunshine dancing for you!!!!!

So, glad its not just me. I woke up around 7 a.m. to pouring rain and immediately got upset for all the brides today.

Funny, I never cared about the weather forecast until now.

You know, that was the first thing I thought of too when I woke up- but in Queens it seems like it's let up a little- this morning it was REALLY coming down hard.

My sister got married this morning!

Luckily, the ceremony and reception were in the same place, and inside, but it was all glass and we could see and hear the rain.

But the cool thing was, it was pouring all morning while we were getting ready, and she put it in perspective quickly. But, then, coolest part, the bridal party descended the staircase, I took my place at the piano to sing for her processional, and the MOMENT she started walking down the stairs, the rain stopped. It was deafiningly quiet and beautiful, and then I started the song for her entrance.

It started pouring again when she got to the alter.

It was so beautiful, I cried while I was singing, and my voice shook, but it was a really 'present from God' moment. Just thought I'd share. The rain didn't ruin her day! She was beaming and beautiful.

That is so nice that you sang for her ceremony. Do you play the piano also?

I have been sick, so I have not been able to reply...

I sang a simple little song by Sixpence none the richer 'With every Breath' I had such a sore throat, but it came out nicely. Luckily, it was for her entrance, so no one was paying attention to me, just her walking down the staircase already sobbing.

She got married in Greenwich, CT at a hotel on the water , 'The Delamar' - it was stunning.

I was hoping to sing to FH o wedding day, but I am looking for a song I will not cry while singing. Something fun and funny and flirty...

Hmmm...
this may be a desperate-plea post as we get closer to the date!

Any other brides get married in the rain yesterday? IT'S GOOD LUCK!
