It really doesn't matter. I went to DMV first and then months later I changed SS#.

I did Social Security first... I thought that they needed that at DMV, but I may be wrong...

I went to ss first, but I don't think it mattered. Nobody asked me at the dmv (or at SS for that matter) if I had changed my name elsewhere.

They told me when I called the DMV to first get the SS card done. When I finally came back in, they told me that it didn't matter. I don't think the order matters so much.

I just changed my DMV first and the passport. I am waiting for my passport to come back now for 4 weeks, I expect it any day and then I am going to go to SS. I also changed my credit cards too, right after DMV.
