Being pregnant and getting a flu shot?

What is the deal with the flu shot? Are you supposed to get it when you are pregnant or not? I just put Jordan on the list to get the flu shot, and I started wondering if I am supposed to get it.

I read that if you're going to be pregnant during flu season that you should get it.

I would check with your Dr you can only get it in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters

I work in a hpsital and we received a huge URGENT enail from the CDC (center for disease control) and they recommend the elderly the very young and pregnant women to get first priority! It is suppose to be a bad season again, they anticipate many deaths and fear that this year or within the next few years the devestation from the flu could be catastophic (scary). It's pretty important to make sure you don't fet the flu when you';re pregnant, a high fever in a pregnant woman could be life threatening for the baby.
I have no choice, I do direct patient care so I virtually HAVE to get it, but so some reseacrh on the CDC website befire you opt not to get it, and if you don't get it, make sure everyone around you gets the shot!!
