UPDATED w/ review of Watermill wedding-My MOH is going to a wedding Sun at...

...Watermill. Told her to take pics and give a full report. We work together so I will have her sit with me to give you Watermill Brides-To-Be a full report. She does not have a digital camera, so not sure how we'll get the pics here (I don't have a scanner).

UPDATE: Back with a full report on The Watermill!!

Okay... first, they were expecting 60 guest, 84 showed. So, the cocktail hour was PACKED! The CH was in the back room, near the exit to the gazebo. Food was okay, fresh veggies and dip, cheese and fruit display, and 4 hot dishes that were dried out. Dinner, fruit appetizer, ceaser salad was wilted, main course was okay. Her DH had the Prime Rib, she had the chicken. Cake was good, moist and had strawberry filling.

Now, she has shared storied with me about the guests and such, but the most appaling to me was the staff. She said she overheard staff members (in the hall) talking about the bride, how b*tchy she was. Ok, so she was, but don't talk about her where guests can hear!

Ceremony was there too, she said 1 of the flower girls and MOH tripped b/c the runner kept getting bunched up.

She said things were very confusing. Not sure where to be when. They went to go in to the ceremony, and they said the room was not open yet.

I am not sharing this to offend anyone or turn you away from there. Just things to keep in mind, possible talk with your BM about, if they are a concern to you.

ETS: Oh my! I'm nervous now! I have always heard such great things about the food, I am surprised. And I can't believe they would talk about the bride like that within earshot. Thats terrible! Thanks for filling us in. I love the Watermill, but I'll I'll keep those things in mind.

thanks for the review..I will point some things out to my BM about this. Funny I have never heard a complaint about the food, so I think now I'll have a tasting to be on the safe side.

I hate to say this about my own hall but I have heard someone say that they tend to not do as good a job with the smaller wedding versus the larger ones. When there is more then one wedding at a time, they tend to give the larger wedding the better employees, more experienced because their are more people...Was there more then one wedding that time? ( thats why Im glad im the only wedding there on my day)

Hmmmm... I'm nervous too. I'll make sure I bring up some of these concerns to my banquet manager. I am the first wedding in that day but I believe the smaller one.

If anyone has another other feedback it would be appreciated.

I dont know, but Im pretty pushy, if I express my concern maybe they will...although I;m really not that concerned. This is the 1st negative review I have heard and so I'm weighing it against the rest ( the good ) ya know?

I hear ya. This is the first negative review I've heard too. Compared to everything else you hear, I'm sure we have nothing to worry about. It's always good to know what could happen so we can address the possibility of it happening, and hopefully prevent it. Which room do you have?

i have been there to and the food was great it was a large wedding 175 people...but HOW RUDE to discuss the bride in that manner

We (MOH and I) had been to a baby shower in late June, on a Saturday afternoon, food was good then. It was in the same room that CH was in, but there were only 35 people.
