My Sept 17 NRC Review and Aruba Honeymoon Review - VERY LONG

Okay ladies I am back from my honeymoon and are here to give you a review of my wedding and honeymoon.

First off, I just want to say the day was amazing. It was everything I had hoped it to be and more. Almost everything was perfect and even the things that were not what I had thought they were going to be turned out pretty good. My one bit of advice to all of you is to get a video. There are so many things that happened that I did not see so I am excited to see the video. It should be really fun to watch.

North Ritz Club
A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I can’t say enough about this place. They were amazing and George my Maitre D’ was out of this world. Really unbelievable. My bridal attendant (can’t recall her name) was beyond amazing. Everyone said the food was great and the bartenders and waiters were quite nice to everyone. I was not the biggest fan of the cake but it looked nice. It looked nicer in the pictures they showed me, but my family said it tasted amazing. So no big deal. We worked with Jenny up until the wedding and I was calling the poor girl every day about something and she was always so nice and cheery on the phone. I have a crazy older aunt who only eats fruit cocktail (no strawberries) and they went ahead and got that and had it ready at the right table with no strawberries. Girls who are getting married there have NOTHING to worry about…the place was amazing. FM me if you want more details or have questions. Two people who are not married yet said they want to get married there.

Proline Photo/Video

The video guy was great. He stayed the whole time and was such a pleasure to work with. He showed up on time and stayed till the end. And everytime I saw him he was getting everything as it was happening. I will give a grade when I see the final product.

The photographer was a nice guy too…however, he left earlier then the contract stated and I am a little worried about the number of proofs but I have not seen them yet so I won’t grade them either until I do.

Coachman Limo
A+++++++++++++

These guys did a great job. We had a Rolls and a limo and both drivers did an excellent job. The only complaint I had is they were rushing my husband out of the house and got to my house early but he wanted to leave ½ hour before the church ceremony and I was like it is 5 minutes away. I got him to leave at 3:40 but then I got to the church and was 10 minutes early. It was embarrassing to be sitting in the back of the church while people were walking in. That is my only complaint. We hit traffic going out to the NRC but the guy knew a shortcut and we were there almost on time. I highly recommend them.

Treemendous in Garden City
A++++++++++++++++++

Suzie the owner was great to work with. She offered me some great ideas that I wound up using that turned out to be really great. The centerpieces were very nice as was my BK and the bridesmaids. Only complaint I had is she put white roses on the white cake and I wanted red ones….but the white ones looked good so I was not too upset about it.

The Fairfield Inn
B

I have heard no complaints from the people who stayed there and we had A LOT. However, in the beginning the guy promised to send me a contract and never did and I had no direction cards when the invitation had to go out so I had to take a day off from work to drive out there to get it. They guy was very apologetic and we did it right then and there but it was a PIA. However, I only blocked 10 rooms and over 20 rooms were used and no one had a problem and they kept the special rate for the wedding even for people who booked less then 30 days before the wedding.

Bonaventure (Tuxes and My Gown)
A+++++++++++++++++++++

This place was so great….they did such an awesome job. I had two fittings and the woman did a great job with everything. And they never complained or caused problems when I went to try on dresses. I was very happy with them.

The tuxes came out awesome. They made each guy try on the tux before they left the store with it and only one guy had a problem with his pants. I think it is great they make them try on their tuxes as I have heard horror stories of guys getting into the tuxes that day and something does not fit or go.

Here Comes the Bridesmaid (Girls Dresses)
A++++++++++++++++++++++

They dresses looked unbelievable and they were so cheap compared to other places. The only thing they don’t do is fittings. You have to go out on your own which I liked even better because the girls were responsible for it after they picked them up. The girl we worked with was great, dresses were in early and everyone looked amazing in them.

Honeymoon – Aruba

Aruba was absolutely AMAZING! I want to go back…..they had some problems with bugs and flooding because of Hurricane Ivan but it still was one of the nicest and best places I have ever been.

We stayed at the Marriot….I liked it better then the others because we had wrap around balconies – where most of the other hotels do not. The pool was so nice too…..and they had the biggest beach of the other resorts.

The Hyatt and Radisson were the next two that were very nice. Allegro and the Holiday Inn seemed like the most fun places to stay at. I didn’t care for the Wyndham.

We were very limited where we could eat because I got pretty bit up on the second night by mosquitos so we had to avoid the outside restaurants..

We ate at:
El Gaucho: I’m not a steak fan but my husband is…he LOVED it. Said it was the best steak he has ever had….I had the salmon…not the best but I was not expecting it to be.

Tuscanny (Marriot): I loved this place as well. It’s Italian and the service and food was really outstanding.

Sunset Grill (Radisson) This was the best (and most expensive) meal I felt. The atmosphere was unbelievable as was the service. Hubby had the steak I had the shrimp, but the main part was the seafood appetizer for two….it was out of this world. Lobster, crab claws…everything.

LG Steakhouse (Renissance) I had the lobster here…it was okay….but it was not very expensive. Steak was good but hubby thought El Gaucho was better.

Palms (Hyatt) Laid back place…was not crazy about the food but the service was great…

Carlos and Charlies – we didn’t eat there but went for a drink with another couple we met….the AC was broken so I did not have a good time and we left after a drink.

We did the Kukuoo Kunoko bus and that was a blast. The dinner ***** but the champagne sunset toast and the three bars was a lot of fun and the people running it are crazy…..we loved that.

We also did the jeep tour of the island. That was a little weird because there was only 4 of us and when we pulled up they said that one of us had to know how to drive stick shift…thank god one of the other ladies knew and then we follow the tour leader who drives in front of us…for someone from the USA who does not know the directions I was a little scared….the jeep kept stalling and we were under the impression that the tour leader would be driving. We went to the Natural Bridge and a few other sites, but could not see a lot because of the flooding from Ivan. I would recommend it but I would of rather done the ATV tour instead.

We are going to go back there….it truly is such a beautiful and safe place and the people there are the best…..

I don’t have any digital pictures right now but I will post them when I get them. Enjoy the planning!
